That's a Wrap

One more post as we close out 2013.

Gonna squeak this card in for the current Impression Obsession challenge, which is "Quick and Simple Cards".  I'm thinking this one would qualify.

To make this card, I stamped the Impression Obsession image of "Beautiful Bow" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the bow with Copic markers and cut around the image with detailed scissors.

I placed the bow onto a piece of patterned paper from Canvas Corp.  I framed this layer with black cardstock.  I stamped the word "Love" using a clear alphabet cling set from Impression Obsession (sorry, I can't seem to find it in their shop) using Versafine Onyx Black.

So easy.  I love the "Beautiful Bow" because it is so versatile.  Can certainly be used for any season...fun to color too!

And that's a wrap for 2013.  See ya next year! ;-)

Let's Party Like It's 2014

It's time to party like it's 2014, because it is.  Gosh, I remember when we used to sing "it's time to party like it's 1999" and I remember when that seemed to be way in the future.  Time sure has a way of passing.

Hopefully, you'll resolve to play in this week's Sassy Cheryl's Challenge, "Sparkle and Shine".  One lucky participant will win two free digital images of their choice from "Sassy Cheryl's".

For my card, I printed the Sassy Cheryl's image of "Let's Party" (Sally) onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I cut the image panel into a circle with a Nestabilities die, using the out-of-the-box technique.  The sentiment is from a Studio G dollar stamp.

Layers were made with patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs.  Using numbers from My Favorite Things "Vanity License Plate Stamp Set", I stamped the "2014" with Versafine Onyx Black.  I added some Diamond Stickles to these numbers, and highlighted some of the image with Diamond Stickles.  All layers were framed with black cardstock.

A clear button and Baker's Twine put the finishing touches on this card.

Here's wishing you all a very sassy new year!  Thank you so much for visiting my blog this year, and I sure hope you'll continue into 2014.  I do appreciate you taking the time to look at my creations.

Relax to the Max

That's what I'm doing...relaxing to the max.  That's what winter breaks are for, right?!

I decided to ink up Whipper Snapper Designs "Relax to the Max".  Isn't this just the cutest image?  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers and cut around the image with detailed scissors.

The layers of this card are made with patterned paper from Queen & Company, kraft, white and black cardstock.  The paw print was something I made with my Cricut that was just hanging out in my stash for the longest time and the flag was made with a MFT die-namic.  I added a button and some hemp cord.  Some of the corners were rounded with a corner punch.  A little sponging around the edges with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy happened too.

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Hope you can find some relax to the max time too!

To the Moon and Back

Time to start with the Valentine cards.

On a black sheet of cardstock, using a negative of a circle cut from a Nestabilities die, I sponged on Brillance Moonlight White pigment ink.  Using Brilliance Platinum Planet pigment ink, I stamped a few of the circles from the DRS Designs "Interlocking Circle Background".  I did some shading with some gray colored pencils.  I added a heart cut with a punch.

I then randomly stamped DRS Designs "Splatter Background" onto the black cardstock with Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.  I also stamped DRS Designs "Love You To the Moon Greeting" with the same ink.

Then using a smaller negative of a circle cut with a Nestabilities die, I sponged Brilliance Platinum Planet pigment ink, along with a hint of Colorbox Bright Blue Mica Magic pigment ink.

I used a white color pencil to frame the card with a line.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Hope you have a pleasant day here on earth.

Majestic Pines

Feeling a little flaky?  If you are, be sure to join the challenge on the DRS Designs blog "Frosted Flakes".  Free rubber stamps to one lucky participant, so I sure hope you join us.

For my card, I created a resist background with the DRS Designs image of "Snow Background".  To do this, I stamped the background repeatedly with Versamark Watermark onto glossy white cardstock.  I applied heat with my heat gun, and then added Brilliance Pearlescent Purple pigment ink and Whispers Rio Purple dye directly onto the cardstock.  I used a paper towel to rub the ink off of the snowflakes.

Then using waterbased markers from Tombow and Zig I colored directly onto the DRS Designs stamp of "Silhouette Majestic Pines" and stamped directly onto the glossy cardstock.

Torn white cardstock was added for the snowy ground, and a white cardstock circle for the moon.  I framed this wintery scene with black cardstock.

On a white cardstock base, I stamped a portion of the the DRS Designs "Stepping Back in Time Greeting" with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.

Fore The Golfer

Do you have a golfer in your life?  I don't, but kind of wish I did because wouldn't this card be perfect?  LOL.

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Golf Ball Snowman" onto X-Press It cardstock with Marvy dye ink.  I colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut with detailed scissors.

Lately I've been addicted to the resist technique for making backgrounds and today is no different.  I randomly stamped DRS Designs "Splatter Background" with Versamark Watermark onto white glossy cardstock.  I applied heat with my heat gun and then smeared Whispers Savoy Green dye and Adirondack Lettuce dye onto the glossy cardstock and wiped with a paper towel.

I inked a portion of DRS Designs "Line of Winter Trees" with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and stamped directly to my now-green glossy cardstock.  I tore some white paper to create a snow-covered ground.  I placed the Golf Ball Snowman into the snowy scene, and added one snowflake brad.

Three Red Buttons

This card was inspired by this week's challenge on the DRS Designs Blog, "Three's Company".  The challenge is to incorporate three of something on your card.  I have three small red buttons on the snowman to meet the requirements.  Make sure you play along.  Free rubber stamps is up for grabs!

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Silhouette Snowflake Snowman"onto black cardstock with Versamark Watermark.  I heat embossed with Judikins White Diamonds embossing powder and cut with my detailed scissors.  I added some Baker's Twine for the scarf and three small buttons.

Then to create a snowy scene for the snowman, I dry embossed a piece of black cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder.  I did some direct-to-paper with Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.  I added some torn paper for the snow-covered ground and added some Crystal Stickles.  A slight gray shadow for the snowman was added with a Copic marker.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Poinsettia Christmas

I've been envisioning this card for a while now, and with Christmas so close, I knew I had better get this card done.

To make this card I used the gorgeous DRS Designs "Giant Poinsettia".   I stamped the image twice onto X-Press It cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black dye.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I did a faint spray of Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz onto the petals and added some crystal Stickles to the small berries in the middle.  I cut the twice stamped flowers with my detailed scissors and set aside.

I then preformed the resist technique on a glossy piece of cardstock. I repeatedly stamped DRS Designs "Polka Dot Background" with Versamark Watermark.  I applied some heat, and then applied Adirondack Pool dye onto the panel.  I used a paper towel to move and wipe off the ink. I framed this panel with black cardstock.

I then arranged the flowers onto this background panel I had created.  A portion of the flowers were cut, allowing just a small portion of one poinsettia to show.  I did use a Memento Tuxedo Black marker to ink up the swirl portion of the image and directly stamp onto the background panel.

Using DRS Designs "Christmas Multi Greeting" I inked up one "Merry Christmas" using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and stamped directly onto the background panel.

Sure hope you have a wonderfully productive weekend.  I sure need to have one, LOL!

Valentine Cutie

I'm very stuck on this CAS layout, LOL!  But that's okay, because this week's challenge on the DRS Designs Blog is "Anything Goes".  Right now, this layout is the only thing I have going, LOL!

I decided to take a break from my Christmas cards and start building my Valentine's Day stash (and the be truthful, it was still on my workspace from Saturday's post).

The image used on this card is DRS Designs "Sweet Offering Cutie Pie Kid".  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I stamped DRS Designs "One Line Valentine Greeting" also with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink.

A strip of pink cardstock was placed along the top of the card, the base corners were rounded with a punch, and Baker's Twine and a button were added.

Very CAS, but I think that's how to really draw attention to the image itself.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Now, back to Christmas cards, LOL!

Sweet, Bent and Twisted

It's Tuesday!  Time for another challenge over on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge is to use bows and/or ribbons.  Make sure you play along this week so for your change to win two free digital images from Sassy Cheryl's!

For my card, I printed the Sassy Cheryl's image of "Candy Cane Sally" from the digital set of "Candy Cane Love" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.

The sentiment is from DRS Designs and is called "Candy Cane Greeting".  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored a portion of it with Copic markers.  It seems to be made to go along with this adorable Sally image.

The header of the image panel is a piece of scrap from Jillibean Soup.  I added a button with a bow tied with Baker's Twine as my finishing touch.

A very CAS-like card.  I must admit, I'm liking this one.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Rose Ceremony

Admit it.  You've watched The Bachelor.  That's where I got the idea for this card.

My Buckeyes are in another important game this weekend, this time with Michigan State for the Big Ten Championship.  I have all the respect for Michigan State and have wonderful gratitude for their head coach, Mark Dantonio (he was the defensive coordinator for Ohio State when Ohio State won the National Championship in 2002).

All projections are that Michigan State will go to represent the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl, win or lose.  They are worthy and have been snubbed in the past.  So, as a Buckeye, I say, "Sparty, will you accept this rose?".

Should Ohio State win, we're on to Pasadena too.  Only a week later to play for the National Championship.  Should Ohio State crush our hearts and lose, we'll be off to someplace else that really won't matter.

So here's truly hoping both Big 10 teams will be in Pasadena to kickoff 2014.

The image used on this card is DRS Designs "Sweet Offering Cutie Pie Kid". I stamped image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover.  I colored the image with Copic markers and drew the Block O on his sweater.  I cut around the image with my detailed scissors.

The sentiment was computer generated.  I placed "Sweet Offering Cutie Pie Kid" onto the card panel and drew in a shadow with a marker. Scarlet cardstock was placed at the top of the card panel, and Buckeye Blend Divine Twine from A Jillian Vance Design was tied along this cardstock.  A football brad was added as a finishing touch.

So, I say...Go Buckeyes!  Beat Michigan State!   Let's all go to Pasadena!

Snowflake Resist

Thank goodness for Stickles!  The current challenge on the DRS Designs Blog is to use glitter.  My stamp room is already a mess, so I took the nice, neat easy way out and used crystal Stickles as a finishing touch on the torn paper used to create a snow covered ground.

I stamped the DRS Designs "Snow Background" onto white glossy cardstock and applied heat with a heat gun.  Then, using a resist technique, I smeared Distress It Tumbled Glass ink over the entire piece of cardstock and wiped with a paper towel.  Pretty cool effect.

The main image is from DRS Designs and is called "Snowman Bird Buddies".  I stamped it with Marvy black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut with my detailed scissors.  I placed it into my snowy scene.

I tied a sheer white ribbon to the card, added a clear snowflake charm and framed the scene with black cardstock.

Hope you'll join us for this week's challenge.  One lucky participant will win some DRS Designs goodies!

The Future

We're back at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog after a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday.  This week the challenge is "Anything Goes" so you have no excuse not to play with us.  Don't forget the winner gets two free digital images of their choice from the Sassy Cheryl's store.

I will admit, I had this card made prior to the Ohio State/Michigan game.  During the game, I thought I was going to have to make another card.  That game was too close for comfort and the Buckeyes were quite lucky to come out of Ann Arbor with a win.  When I made this card, I was thinking Rose Bowl (because that's nothing to be ashamed of), but now the future might even be brighter than that thanks to Auburn.  One game at a time though.  Go Buckeyes!!! Beat Michigan State!!!

Oh.  Am I supposed to tell you how I made this card?  LOL.

I stamped an image from Kraftin Kimmie's "Hey Ghoulfriend" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I stamped the small Block O alphabet stamp from All Night Media with Marvy Cherry dye.  I added Crystal Stickles to the ball.

The sentiment "The Future is Bright" is from Kraftin' Kimmie's "Hey Ghoulfriend" and was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx.  The "Ohio State Buckeyes" sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design's "Ohio Game Day Stamp Set" and was also stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

The banner was cut with a Memory Box die using patterned paper from The Paper Studio.  Scarlet cardstock frames the card panel.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Thanks so much, Auburn!  And perhaps, just perhaps, our Buckeye future is indeed bright!

Prince of Peace with Prismacolor Pencils

After yesterday's Ohio State game, I needed to calm myself down a bit.  I decided to work with the "Prince of Peace Stamp Set" again from A Jillian Vance Design, though this time with colored pencils.  When they say coloring is relaxing, they are right.

For my card, I stamped the image with Stazon Jet Black ink onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.  I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils, and sprayed with a workable fixative.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the image panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I framed the image panel with black cardstock, and placed it on a larger beige panel. I added a gold ribbon/bow as a finishing touch.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today, and thanks so much to A Jillian Vance Design for the honor of being their guest designer today!
