Surprise from Jason

Ten years ago, I had a student named Jason in my Kindergarten classroom.  Fast forward to last week when I reached into my home mailbox.  I found a package from Jason.  In it was the most adorable dachshund pillowcase ever.  I am touched that he thought of me and remembered my love for Sloopy after all of these years.

So, I made him this thank you card.  The fun dachshund alphabet is from Cowtown Stamps, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The other part of the sentiment is from Honeybee Stamps.  That's some fun washi tape along the bottom of the card.

Thanks so much, Jason!  I'm so proud of the kindhearted soul you are.

Bloom

This past weekend I made it into my stamp room to color this beautiful bouquet image from A Jillian Vance Design.  It is from the stamp set Bloom.  What fun I had with my Copic markers on this one.  The sentiment was made from the Thanks DIEalogue Word Die, also from A Jillian Vance Design.

You can read all about this card on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

Have a beautiful week.  Back again tomorrow with another post.  I guess you can say it was a productive weekend in the stamp room.

Thanks SNOW Much

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, snowman, thanks SNOW much
Brrrrr....it's cold!  How many days until spring?  Given the weather outside, a snowman on a card is still very current and acceptable.

This is a thank you card made with the Frosty Stamp and Die Collection from A Jillian Vance Design.  You can read all about this card today on the AJVD blog.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Stay warm!

Florals with Thanks

Inkadinkadoo, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
So, I'm as pleased as punch with this one.

I'll set the stage.  It was a late Saturday night, a semi-clean work area, tunes of Seals & Crofts, nothing really pressing to do, creating for just the fun of it.  So I got a little lost in coloring.  Don't you love it when that happens?  I do.  It's been awhile.

I'm on this kick right now of looking at the shelves that line one entire wall of the stamp room.  Filled, and I mean filled with old wood-mounted stamps.  'Cause I began this hobby before there was any such thing as unmounted or clear polymer.

This card features an image from Inkadinkado.  I had to stamp it twice to go across the card and that required a bit of masking.  But, I had the time.  Then I just colored most of the night away with Copic markers.  It was glorious.

The sentiment is from an A Jillian Vance Design die.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Inspired by Art

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, spools of thread
I have been walking around with this card in my head for several months.  I attending a conference near the tail end of January and snapped this picture that adorned the walls:

Don't you love it when you get some inspiration like this?

My card features the A Jillian Vance Design stamp set of "I'll Be Darned" by Becky Schultea.  I did some masking and stamped the image of the spool of thread many times.  The scene is colored with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I put some sparkle onto the thread with my Spectrum Noir sparkle pen (I'm becoming quite addicted to it).

You can read all about this card today on the AJVD blog.

Today represents my last regular post on the A Jillian Vance Design Team.  I have been a member since February 2014 and just feel it is time to move on to do some new things with my limited free time. You see, I have a room full of stamps that haven't seen ink yet, and I just want to create with these some more.  I've also been trying to learn how to crochet.  And I want to spend some of my free time writing, which is something I started doing for me last summer.  Bunny and Jillian and Sam have been wonderful to me.  I wish them nothing but the best.  I will always be a fan of AJVD.  The crafting industry seems so cliquey to me, and the Vance family is as real and as genuine as they come.

Did Someone Say Pie?

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, pie, Copic markers
I'm not sure how it is possible that Thanksgiving is next week, but it is.  Where has this fall gone?

It's Tiddly Tuesday, and today we are challenged to make a thank you card.  You can read all about the challenge on the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog and see some amazing Design Team creations.

My contribution to this challenge is a card that features the Tiddly Inks image of Annie Gives Thanks.  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The strip along the left side of the card is some light creme yellow cardstock, stamped with a Penny Black stamp using Memento Desert Sand.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and is from A Jillian Vance Design.

I'm now hungry for pie.  One more week.  ;-)

Orange Leaf Gratitude

AJVD, Kecia Waters, leaves, fall, thank you, watercolors
Each morning on the way to work I drive by the most beautiful tree filled with orange leaves that just sparkle and glisten in the morning sunshine.  With it being mid-November, I know its days are numbered.  I'm going to miss it.

This card is an attempt to capture those colors.  I used a maple leaf die from A Jillian Vance Design, along with a sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design.  The leaves are colored with my Kuretake watercolor set, and are sponged lightly with Distress Ink Wild Honey.  Dusted off my Scor-It to score around the white cardstock panel.

You can read all about this card on the A Jillian Vance Design blog today.

Make it a great week and enjoy the last few days of this gorgeous autumn color.

Grateful Heart

AJVD, Kecia Waters, leaves, fall, sponging, Distress Ink
First Thanksgiving card of the season, using the wonderful Leaves and Petals Die Set from A Jillian Vance Design.  I cut the leaves out of watercolor paper and then had fun sponging various dye inks to achieve the gorgeous fall colors that autumn brings.

You can read all about this card on the AJVD blog today!

Back again tomorrow with a wicked card for Tiddly Tuesday.  You don't want to miss it.

Make it a great Monday, if that's even possible.

Colorful Posies

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, posies
More energy to color this week for A Jillian Vance Design.  I told you last week I was envisioning a card with lots of posies of bright colors.  This week, I can deliver this vision.

This card was made with the "Pretty Posies Stamp and Die Combo" from A Jillian Vance Design.  There's some Copic action on this, along with some Prismacolor shading.

I truly think this card is the result of watching numerous Alisha Burke videos.  Who is AMAZING, by the way.

Have a fantastic week ahead.  Here's to good health.

Five Daisies

AJVD, Kecia Waters, daisies, Copic markers, Distress Ink
It is August 1st.  Already.  I'm going to hang on to summer by making cards with flowers.  I will not go down without a fight, LOL.

This card features the daisy image from AJVD's "Simply Said: Happy Daisy".  Masking, sponging, Copic coloring.  That's the recipe for this card and it is featured today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.  Go check it out.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I'm not yet ready to start making fall themed cards, yet.  So stay tuned for more summer.

Thanks A Latte

AJVD, Grandpa's Glass, Kecia Waters, latte, coffee, sponging
Another cold weekend.  Another cup of coffee card as a result.  Can you tell I promised A Jillian Vance Design some cards from "Grandpa's Glass: Cup of Love Die and Perk Up Stamp Combo"?  They are going to be in Akron for Adventures in Stamping in a couple weeks.  I hope to be too!

This card is featured today on the AJVD blog.  Go check it out.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and check back tomorrow for Tiddly Tuesday!

Iris Thank You

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, iris
I had the best time coloring the petals of these irises.  So much so, I stamped the image three times and got lost for a bit of time with my Copic markers.

This card features the stamp set "Spring In Bloom" from A Jillian Vance Design.  Sadly, this set is retiring so run to A Jillian Vance Design if you need to get lost coloring iris petals too.

Grandma's Garden Quilt

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters, hexagon, quilt
I can't sew a stitch, but I can make a card like I can.

Thanks to the bright and sunny weekend, I was inspired to make a bright and vibrant thank you card using some scraps of patterned paper and items from the A Jillian Vance Design "Quilting Collection".

My card is featured on the A Jillian Vance Design blog today, so go check it out.

I sure hope the bright and sunny weather sticks around.  Makes me long for spring and summer!

It's Tiddly Tuesday!!! And I'm a Part of It!!!

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Someone pinch me please!  I have been invited to be a guest designer for TIDDLY INKS!  Never in ten thousand years did I ever think this would happen.  I have admired Christy Crolls' images since forever, and I own many...I just rarely create with them because I think I'm not worthy or good enough, LOL.  I'm quirky and ridiculous that way.

Here's my first official card as a guest designer.  It is for Challenge #174 on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog, create a thank you card.

For my card, I used the wonderful Tiddly Inks image "Celebrate Joyfully".  I printed the digital image onto X-Press It cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers.
Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

The sentiment is also from "Celebrate Joyfully".  I drew in the line with a black marker, and rounded two corners with a punch.

Make sure you play along and make a thank you card!  All the details, and samples from the Tiddly Inks Design Team can be found on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog!

Thanks SNOW Much

What a great weekend!  And it's still going on thanks to it being a three day weekend.  I spent a lot of time in my stamp room just playing around with inks and embossing powder and stamps.  A good time for sure.

Here's a card from the weekend.  I was playing around with sponging Distress Inks onto glossy cardstock.  Loving the vibrancy.  The snowflakes are from A Jillian Vance Design's "Just Snowflakes Too" and were stamped with some new Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink, some heat embossed, some not.

This card is featured on the AJVD blog today, so you can read all the deets about how I created this card.

Thanks SNOW much for stopping by my blog on this very CHILLY day!

Bright Yellow Flowers

Inkadinkado, Kecia Waters, yellow flowers, thank you card
Flowers?  December 26?  Why not?!  The weather around here has been incredibly warm.  It feels like April.

This image is from Inkadinkado.  I colored with Derwent Inktense pencils a couple of years ago, when I just got them.  I came across the colored image accidently as I was going through some papers in my stamp room.  Seemed like it was finally time to put it on a card.

Sentiment is a die from Paper Smooches.  Rectangle and circle stitched dies are from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today.  I hope these flowers brightened your day.

Raindrops on Fallen Leaves

AJVD, Kecia Waters, fall leaves, raindrops, watercolor
I got out my Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel powder to make some raindrops on these fall leaves.  So easy, just apply gluestick, UTEE and aim the heat gun.  Love the effect.

You can read all about this card today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Thanks A Latte

Lisa Lara Originals, AJVD, latte, Kecia Waters
This card was made under the influence of Starbucks, LOL.  Had to go with this color scheme, but you can betcha I wasn't drinking a latte while I was making it.  More like a Diet Coke, LOL.  Call me crazy, but I really can't stand lattes or anything having to do with coffee.

This card is a result of me playing with the stamp set "Teacher, Teacher" designed by the uber-talented Lisa Lara Originals for A Jillian Vance Design.  You can read all about how I made the card over on the AJVD blog today.

Thanks A Latte for visiting my blog!

Callie's Ladybugs

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Callie
I made this card on a dreary day, so I decided to make my own sunshine by using fun, bright colors!  Hope you don't mind.

The image is from Sassy Cheryl's "Callie's Nature Digital Stamp Set".  I colored it with Copic markers.  Patterned paper is from Kaisercraft and Darcie's.  The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance.  The big flower button is from my stash.  It has been there a long time, and I have a couple others, LOL.

Have a bright sunny Tuesday!  Thanks for visiting my blog today!
