School Girl with Chalkboard Easel

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, easel, Copic markers, MFT Die-namics Blueprint 17, back to school
Old school chalkboard.  Starting tomorrow, I will now be teaching in a school without chalkboards.  Hello, dry erase boards!  2016 indeed!

So call this creation nostalgic, if you will.

It's Tiddly Tuesday!  Yay!  And the theme is Back to School.  How timely and appropriate.  For my contribution, I created this chalkboard easel, featuring the Tiddly Inks digital image "SchoolGirl and Extras".  I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut.  I constructed the chalkboard easel with My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprints 17.  The sentiment I used was from an old set from The Paper Studio.  I stamped it with white pigment ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

I like the look of this.  I do.  Glad I was finally able to give the easel die some action too.  'Cause I just had to have it a couple of years ago.

Please go over to the challenge blog to see all of the wonderful back to school creations from the Tiddly Inks Design Team.  They almost make this time of the year bearable.

Jack-O-Lantern Note Cards

AJVD, Kecia Waters, jack-o-lantern, Halloween, die-cutting
Having a little fun with my new "Jack O. Lantern Die" from A Jillian Vance Design.  No stamping on these.  Just some orange, black and green cardstock.  Two card A2 sized, the one in the forefront is a square.  Kinda fun to have a patch of jack-o-lanterns carved and ready to spook.

You can read all about these note cards on the AJVD blog today.  Come back here tomorrow for Tiddly Tuesday.

It is the busiest time of the year.  Goodbye, summer.

So Super

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Superhero
So, I'm thinking today is not so super, in the whole scheme of things.  But maybe this card celebrates a super summer, which it was.  And still is.  I've still got one super thing to look forward to on Sunday night.  And maybe, just maybe, it foreshadows a super school year ahead.  I hope so.

This card features the digital image "My Super Boy" from Tiddly Inks.  I colored him with Copic markers, fussy cut and placed him on an action wobble so he can soar high above the rooftops.  The rooftops are compliments of My Favorite Things...a very old set.  I'm still liking these rooftops though.

If you really want to see something super, you really ought to soar on over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog for today's Fab Friday.  There are some super design team creations that I promise you that you don't want to miss.

Frank Takes a Selfie

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Whimsie Doodles, Copic markers, Halloween, selfie
My first Halloween card of the season.  I hope there will be time for more because they are my favorite to make.  Though I've never sent Halloween card in my life.  Hmm.

This little guy, Frank, took a selfie. He's from A Jillian Vance Design and he's on sale for just $5.  Get over to the AJVD blog now to read all about this card and get him while he's still available.  Because once he's gone, all you will have is the memory of Frank to haunt you.  Go.

Water Effects

Designs By Ryn, Kecia Waters, watercoloring, Kuretake, water droplets
I'm just saying that you might be seeing lots of water droplets from me.  I finally cracked open the amazing set of stamps Water Effects 1 from Designs by Ryn.  (Yes, I've had the set for over four months and I'm just now exploring with them.)

Talk about a relaxing process!  I added some Kuretake watercolors to a piece of watercolor paper from Marcos.  Once dry, I stamped the water droplets with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I then added water to the droplets and blotted with a paper towel.  This removed the color.  I added the white highlight with a white gel pen.  It was fun.  It will happen again.

The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts stamp, also stamped with Versafine Onxy Black ink. I thought it paired well.

Back again tomorrow with another card, so I'll see you then.

Merrie Mermaid

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, mermaid
It's time for another Tiddly Tuesday.  This week we are going "Under the Sea" on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.  Sure hope you can join us.  Make sure you check out all of the Tiddly goodness from the design team.  We've got some new members on the team who will blow you away with their talent.

I am as pleased as punch with my card.  It features the Tiddly Inks digital image of "Merrie Mermaid".  I printed it on X-Press It cardstock and just had a wonderful late night coloring session with tunes from the 70's and my Copic markers.  Not sure why I haven't had many late night coloring sessions this summer, but man this one felt good.  I'd go back to the 70's.  I would.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  I'm glad you got to see this one.

Every Leaf Is a Flower

AJVD, Kecia Waters, leaves, Pan Pastels
I have made the decision to allow myself to begin the fall/Halloween cardmaking season.  IN NO WAY DOES THIS SUGGEST THAT I WISH SUMMER TO BE OVER!  But, I enjoy making fall cards and I'm ready to start.

This card features the A Jillian Vance Design stamp set "Autumn Blessings".  Inspired from Saturday's Stampaway, I decided to do some Pan Pastel work.  I love how this card turned out, but the photo does not capture it's beauty.  This card has a shimmer to it, from my usage of Pearlescent Orange Pan Pastel to blend.  I took photo, after photo, but to no avail.

To make this card, I randomly stamped the leaf image with Versamark Watermark onto white cardstock.  I applied yellow, orange and brown Pan Pastels to the Versamark leaves, then blended everything with the Pearlescent Orange.  The sentiment and sequins are from AJVD too.

You can read about this card today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

Now, back to summer!

Oh Duck!

Sheena Douglass, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, duck
So, this stamp cracks me up.  It is a Sheena Douglass stamp manufactured by StampWorkz (new to me).  I got this image on a clearance at the stamping convention in Akron.  I just had to have it.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  No real mystery here.

Speaking of stamping conventions....Stampaway in Cincinnati is tomorrow!!! WOOT!!! SO looking forward to it, since I didn't get to go last year.  You know how bare my stamp room is....I need stuff.  NOT!

Seahorse Serenade

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, seahorse
Maybe you happened to be on vacation last week like I was and didn't get a chance to check out the Fab Friday post on the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog.  If that's the case, you have missed out on some Tiddly Inks goodness.  Go now.  It's not too late.

This card features one of Crissy Croll's newer Tiddly Inks images "Seahorse Serenade".  It cracks me up and makes me smile.  I printed on X-Press It cardstock, and colored with Copic markers.  I cut around the image with a circle die, and decided to use the negative as well.  I sponged some Distress Inks and stamped an old Penny Black background stamp onto the negative with Versafine Onyx black.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Five Daisies

AJVD, Kecia Waters, daisies, Copic markers, Distress Ink
It is August 1st.  Already.  I'm going to hang on to summer by making cards with flowers.  I will not go down without a fight, LOL.

This card features the daisy image from AJVD's "Simply Said: Happy Daisy".  Masking, sponging, Copic coloring.  That's the recipe for this card and it is featured today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.  Go check it out.

Thanks for visiting me today!  I'm not yet ready to start making fall themed cards, yet.  So stay tuned for more summer.
