Maize and Blue Turkey

I couldn't help myself once I conjured up the idea for this card.

I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Ohio Buckeye" onto X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I colored it with Copic markers and cut around it with detailed scissors.  I adhered the buckeyes and leaves to scarlet cardstock that was cut with an emerald die set from A Jillian Vance Design.  It was trimmed with a black marker and framed with silver cardstock.

Then, I stamped DRS Designs "High Tailin' Turkey" with Memento Tuxedo Black onto another sheet of X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the turkey with Copic markers, drawing the "M" on his body.  I cut around the image with my detailed scissors.

I stamped a portion of the sentiment from "Ohio Buckeye" inking with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and adding an "s" and an "!".   I cut the speech bubble with a die from A Jillian Vance Design.

I assembled everything onto a piece of texturized white cardstock, paper pierced and faux stitched, and framed with black and silver cardstock.  Two pieces of "Ohio State" ribbon were added to the card as a final touch.

I hope your favorite team wins today.  Well, unless your team is M!ch*g@n, LOL.

Final score???!!!! Buckeyes all the way, of course!!!

Go Buckeyes!!!

Polar Bear Squares

This card is a result of just playing around in my stamp room.  Loving having some time off so I can do just that.  It's fun!

I stamped the Magenta image (no clue what it is called...I looked on their website but it wasn't listed.  I've had this image for *years*) with Memento Tuxedo Black dye onto Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover.  I colored it with Copic markers. and framed it with black cardstock.

Then onto a panel of texturized light blue cardstock, I splotched and splattered some white acrylic paint and spread it along the grooves of the textured paper.  I edged the panel with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass dye and Distress Ink Sugar Spun dye.  I framed this panel with black cardstock.

I added a sheer white ribbon, a button and some Baker's Twine and called this card done.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Turkey on the Run

Happy Thanksgiving!  A day to be thankful, for sure.

I created this card using the funny image from DRS Designs "Hi Tailin' Turkey" and paired it with DRS Designs "Turkey on the Run Greeting".  The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  It was colored with Copic markers and cut out with detailed scissors.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto white cardstock, framed with black cardstock.

A circle was cut with a Nestabilities die and sponged with Memento Desert Sand dye.  I stamped the DRS Designs "Double Chevron Card Edger" with Memento Desert Sand onto the sponged circle.  The largest of the card panels was also stamped with this stamp and ink.

A piece of white cardstock was stamped with DRS Designs "Open Plaid" using Memento Desert Sand.

I adhered the turkey, his hat and a button tied with hemp to the card, utilizing this week's sketch on Splitcoast, SC464.  I drew some lines coming from the turkey with a Copic marker.

I am grateful to each and everyone of you that visit my blog.  I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Silhouette Snowflake Man

For the life of me, I couldn't get a good picture of this card.  I had to resort to taking it outside and taking a quick picture, *quick* being the operative word since it is quite chilly today.

I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Silhouette Snowflake Man" with Memento Desert Sand dye ink onto white cardstock.  I cut around the image with my detailed scissors and placed aside.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I lightly and repeatedly stamped DRS Designs  "Snow Background" and DRS Designs "Polka Dot Background" with Memento Desert Sand dye.  I also sponged this ink onto the cardstock.

I tore a piece of white cardstock for the snow on the ground, placed the snowman into my scene.  I added Baker's Twine for a scarf and drew some arms with a marker.

The sentiment "Warm Wishes" was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia.

Stay warm, friends!  And, thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Prince of Peace

Coloring such a meaningful image as this is such an absolute privilege.  I am honored that I was asked to do so by A Jillian Vance Design.

This image is from the new "Prince of Peace Stamp Set" as seen here:

Don't you just love all of the sentiment options included in this set?

For my card, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I drew a line with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker to create the ground.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut around the image with my detailed scissors and set aside.

On a piece of white cardstock, I brayered and sponged the following inks to make the blue sky:  Colorbox Ice Blue Chalk, Adirondack Sail Boat Blue and Distress It Faded Jeans.  I added some some white dots for faraway stars with a white uni-ball Signo pen.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the blue sky with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I then merged the sky and the image together into a card, framed with black cardstock.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today, and thanks so much to A Jillian Vance Design for the honor of being their guest designer today!

Princess on Ice

It's Tuesday! Time for another challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge blog.  The challenge is to incorporate winter/cold weather onto your card or project.  I'm okay with putting it on a card...it is just in real life when winter weather can be aggravating, LOL.

For my card, I printed the Sassy Cheryl's digital image of "Lucy Lou Princess on Ice" from the set "It Takes One to Know One" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers, added some Crystal Stickles for the ice.

I stamped some very faint snowflakes from Stamps by Judith with ColorBox Ice Blue chalk ink, and DRS Designs "Warm Wishes Greeting" was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I added a plastic snowflake charm to the scene.  I rounded two corners with a punch.

The larger card panel is patterned paper from The Paper Studio, and all layers were framed with black cardstock.

Hope you'll play along with us...this is a two week challenge due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday so you really do have plenty of time.  Free digital images from Sassy Cheryl's to a random participant.

Snow Buddies

Since it snowed a little earlier in the week, I guess that is Mother Nature's way of letting me know it is okay if I start making winter snow cards.

I brayered Distress Ink Spun Sugar dye onto a piece of white cardstock.  I sponged Whispers Lilac dye, ColorBox Ice Blue chalk ink along the edges.  I stamped the DRS Designs "Snow Background" onto the pink sky for some subtle pink flakes.

I tore some white cardstock to become my snow covered ground, adding highlights with Crystal Stickles.

The main image is from DRS Designs and is called "Snowman Bird Buddies".  I stamped it with Marvy black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut with my detailed scissors.  I placed it into my snowy scene.

I stamped DRS Designs "Warm Wishes Greeting" with Versafine Onyx Black.  I added a sheer white bow, a transparent pink button and Baker's Twine for the finishing touches on this card.

Now, I guess it is time I get back to my 60 degree day, LOL!  Wacky weather indeed!

From Our Doghouse to Yours

This week on the DRS Designs Blog, we are being challenged to incorporate torn paper into our projects.

For my card, I brayered the following inks onto a piece of white cardstock:  ColorBox Ice Blue Chalk and Adirondack Sail Boat Blue dye.  I sponged some Distress Ink Faded Jeans around the extreme edges.  Then, I added torn white cardstock to become my snowy ground.  Using Copic White, I painted the snow flurries.

I stamped the DRS Designs image directly onto my scene.  I then stamped it again onto X-Press It cardstock and colored the doghouse with Copic markers.  I cut around the doghouse with my detailed scissors and then adhered it to the scene.  Using a Copic marker, I drew the pawprints in the snow.  I tied some sheer white ribbon to the card.

Sure hope you'll join us the week for our torn paper challenge.  It is easy to do, and you could win some free rubber!

No Peeking!

This week at Sassy Cheryl's, we are being challenged to use our favorite holiday colors.  I am fanatical over the color I call "Grinch Green".  Might explain why my YG03 is always dry, LOL.

I printed the Sassy Cheryl's image of "Secret Santa Gift" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I framed the image with red cardstock, and placed on a larger square panel of patterned paper from Jillibean Soup.

The sentiment is from Whipper Snapper.  It seemed quite a perfect pairing with this image.  I added a sheer red bow to make the card a bit more festive.

Sure hope you'll join us over on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  Free digital images will be won by one lucky participant, so come on...show us your colors.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Christmas Kiss

I had such a good time coloring this one.  I kept it CAS so the image was the focus.  Didn't feel it needed much of anything.

The image is called "Christmas Kiss" from Penny Black.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.

A red piece of cardstock is along the edge of the card, with part of the slipper "out-of-the-box".

Thanks so much visiting my blog today!

Christmas Candy Jars

I had so much fun coloring this image earlier in year, I thought it might be fun to color the image with red Christmas candy.

I stamped the Impression Obsession image of "Candy Jars" with Memento Tuxedo Black dye onto Ice Gold Curious Metallic cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers, and used a white colored pencil and some diluted white acrylic paint for the highlights.

Simple in design, I mounted the image panel onto a piece of patterned paper from The Paper Studio.  I added a sheer white ribbon, a button and Baker's Twine for embellishments.

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession's "Fancy Ornaments" set.

I am entering this card for the current challenge on the Impression Obsession blog, "Holiday Cards, Tags and Gifts".

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  For some reason, I'm now craving peppermint, LOL!

Happy Hogidays

I'm still here! What a week! I'm thinking you wouldn't believe the details if I told you, so I'll just say I'm declaring today a day for staying in my PJs and stamping all day long, LOL!

I wanted to share with you a Christmas card today.  I made it using a new image and sentiment from DRS Designs (1047G & 1038B...too new for the website but they can still be ordered).  I stamped the adorable Santa Leonard Pig with Memento Tuxedo Black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The sentiment "Happy Hogidays" (LOL!) was also stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.

I cut the image panel with a Nestabilities die and paper pierced around the panel.  The red cardstock panel was dry embossed and randomly stamped DRS Designs "Splatter Background" with Adirondack Snow Cap pigment ink.

A sheer white ribbon completes the details on this card.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and sticking with me!  Have a great weekend!
