So Sweet on You

There She Goes, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
I made this card last week, just for fun.  I'm just getting around to sharing it.  It was made using the stamp set "Freeze the Moment" from There She Goes.  Oh how I miss that company!  I'm fortunate I have some of their stamp sets...though I usually have in my mind that I'm not worthy of them and can't do them justice.  I think I did okay coloring the adorable little girl in Copics.  The rest of the design is a disappointment.  I can't do more than a simple layout to save the life of me.

Back again soon with more cards that I've made, but are still unshared.  Is that even a word?  Unshared?

That Bites

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, mosquito
This weekend is the "unofficial" start to summer, and it really "bites" that I have been harboring a head cold for the past week.  Enough already!

This card, which cracks me up, features the set "Happy Trails" by Whimsie Doodles for A Jillian Vance Design.  Patterned paper is from DCWV.  Colored with Copic markers, and a little Diamond Glaze for the shine on the pesky mosquito.

Hopefully this lovely germ that I have will be gone by the "official" start of summer.

Hey Hot Dog!

Some Odd Girl, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, dachshund

This is a card I made for my Dad.  Today is his birthday, which means he shares his birthday with Thanksgiving, and will probably end up sharing his meal with Sloopy.  I made this card for him, because he will probably see this very look at his feet.  He can't resist her.

I made the card using images and the sentiment from Some Odd Girl's "Preppy Pups".  I'm thinking you can pretty much figure out everything I did, right?  Copic markers, shading with a Prismacolor pencil, Nestabilities circles, sponging, paper piercing, MFT die-namics flag, button, Baker's Twine.  I think the patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs.

Have a great Thanksgiving!  I am thankful you stopped by my blog, and I am even more thankful I will spend my day with my Dad on his birthday.

Snowman Angel

Sassy Cheryl's, Squigglefly, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

So nice to have an extra hour this weekend to color!  Here's a card I made using the image "Fat Round Snowman" by Cheryl Grant

I printed the image onto Hammermill Color Copy Digital paper.  I colored the image with Copic markers, and did some slight shading with Prismacolor pencils.  I added some sparkle to the wings with a clear Wink of Stella pen.

I framed the image with kraft cardstock, and placed on a card panel from Basic Grey.  I paper pierced around this panel, and faux stitched with a color pencil.

A small button with hemp cord, and the sentiment from Impression Obsession stamped with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy, complete the details of this card.

This week's challenge on the Squigglefly blog is to use patterned paper.  Hope you join us for all of the fun.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  Another post to follow in just a few short hours.

Funny Card with a Ring of Truth

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Doesn't this sentiment ring true?  LOL.  This is the latest card I made using the A  Jillian Vance Design stamp set "Oh Nuts" by Whimsie Doodles.  I also used AJVD's {die}velop Foto Frames and {die}alogue Bubble Die Set.  You can read all the deets about this card over on the A Jillian Vance Design Blog.

Have a great week, all!  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Home Run Hitter

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, baseball

This is one of Cheryl Grant's newest images called "Home Run Hitter".  Perhaps you don't think about baseball in the fall, but those that are diehard fans (not me!) make a big deal about baseball in October.  I know because I have a husband that lives and breathes baseball.  And we're still together, LOL.

I made this card for the current challenge on the Squigglefly Blog.  The challenge is Leaves, as in fall leaves or things that leave.  This baseball is bound to leave the park, right?  LOL.

I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The image panel was cut using a Nestabilities die, as was the black cardstock circle frame.  The pennant is from a scrap piece of patterned paper from The Paper Studio and was cut with a Memory Box die.  The pennant flag was cut from MFT Die-namics, and the sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmies.  The baseball is from There She Goes.  I paper pierced around the image, and the larger piece of patterned paper is from K&Company.   I paper pierced and faux-stitched with a colored pencil.

For now, I'm outta here...just like this baseball.

Bountiful Blessing

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Here's a card featuring a new image from Sassy Cheryl's called "Bountiful Blessing".  I paired it with an old sentiment from MFT.

X-Press It cardstock, Copic markers, Nestabilities, patterned paper from Basic Grey, kraft cardstock and a paper piercer are the ingredients for this particular card.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

All-Star Break

Kraftin Kimmie, Sassy Chery's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, baseball
So, it's the all-star break.  That means a lot to my husband, and not a thing to me, LOL.  I actually went to a Cincinnati Reds game last week with him.  I got as red as this guy's hat.  Little toasty up in those bleachers, LOL.  Bottle of water was the best $4.50 I've ever spent.

This card was made using Kraftin' Kimmie's "You've Got Game" by Cheryl Grant.  Cute, cute, cute!  I stamped the image onto Neenah cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the image using Copic markers.  I cut around the image with a Nestabilities die, and paper pierced around the circle, framing it with black cardstock.

Kraftin Kimmie, Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

The layers of this card include patterned paper from The Paper Studio and Basic Grey.  It too was paper pierced and framed with black cardstock.  Faux stitched with a colored pencil.

The sentiment is also from Kraftin' Kimmie's "You've Got Game", and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto a flag cut with a MFT die-namics die.  A button and hemp twine complete the card.

The layout of this card was inspired by the current challenge #234 on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog.

This card is going, going......into the Etsy shop!

Seas Everyday

This mermaid remains a favorite image of mine to color.  It is from A Jillian Vance Design's "Seas the Day" by Whimsie Doodles.

The circle was sponged with Adirondack Pool dye ink, with the mermaid being fussy cut and placed into the circle.  Some paper piercing, dry embossing on Bella Blvd paper are some of the special deets on this card.  The mermaid was colored with Copic markers. Her shimmer is compliments of Crystal Stickles.

Love coloring her hair.

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Whimsie Doodles

I'm thinking it is a good thing this chick lives in the water.  Wouldn't her hair take forever to dry, LOL.  It does take forever to color!  But so relaxing and worth it!

Come back tomorrow.  Another card awaits you.

Don't Forget to Make a Wish

MFT, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Flopsy

I was going through some birthday stamps of mine, and came across Flospy from My Favorite Things.  He was needing to be colored, so I just had to drop everything and make this card.

I stamped Flopsy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers, and then used the out-of-the-box technique with an oval Nestabilities die.  I paper pierced the oval.

The patterned paper on this card is from Cloud9 Design.  I paper pierced it as well and faux stitched with a colored pencil.  I stamped the swirls with a stamp from Bugawumps with SeaShells Seashell Pink dye ink.  A button with Baker's Twine was added to the card, and the sentiment is from the stamp set.

This Flopsy card is hopping over to my Etsy shop, CardsByKecia.  Perfect for someone with an upcoming birthday, don't you think?

Reflective Frog Birthday Wishes

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, DRS Designs
I am having a ball grabbing some previously used images and inking them again and coloring them up.

This adorable from is from DRS Designs.  I stamped the image onto X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and cut with detailed scissors and set aside.  Then on a piece of X-Press It cardstock cut with a Nestabilities oval die, I stamped the frog again, colored the water and grass with Copics, and made the clouds with Pan Pastels.  I adhered the colored frog to the scene, and used Diamond Glaze to add reflection to the water.  The oval was framed with black cardstock.

No clue on the maker fo the patterned paper, but I do know it is a scrap from JoAnn's.  I added a couple buttons, and twine, and then paper pierced and faux stitched with a colored pencil.  The sentiment is from MFT and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Thanks for hopping over to my blog today!  This card is hopping over to my Etsy shop, CardsByKecia, if interested.

Jump for Joy!

Doodle Pantry, dachshund, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

This is such a fun digital image from the Doodle Pantry.  It is from the set "Dizzy Dachshund".  It reminds me so much of Sloopy, so this is a happy card for me.  I love to see Sloopy running (and flying through the air), because I am reminded of last January when she could not and had to have back surgery.

I printed the dachshund image onto X-Press It cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers.  I cut around the image with detailed scissors.

I cut a circle with a Nestabilities die, and drew in the grass and sky to create a little scene for the dog to be jumping from.  I framed the circle with black cardstock.

Patterned paper from Bo Bunny serves as the main panel, and is paper pierced and faux stitched with a colored pencil.  It is framed with black cardstock.

The sentiment is one of many from the Dizzy Dachshund set.  It was printed and a MFT die-namic was used to create the flag.  A dog paw brad was used to hold the flag in place.

I glued the rear of the dachshund onto the circle scene, and the front of the dachshund is pop-dotted to give the illusion of truly jumping forward.

I'm loving it.  I hope you do too!

Congrats Grad

Sassy Cheryl's, graduation, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
My husband needed yet another graduation card, and will need one more before the season is over.  Good thing I have adorable graduation images from Sassy Cheryl's! And speaking of Sassy Cheryl's, don't forget about the current challenge going on (a shade of purple with two dies).  You could win free digital images.  All the details are right here.

To make this particular card, I printed the adorable Sassy Cheryl's image from the Cap & Gown Kids digital stamp set onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut the panel with a Nestabilities die.  I paper pierced around this panel.

The larger card panel is from Little Yellow Bicycle patterned paper.  It too was paper pierced, and faux-stitched with a colored pencil.  Light blue cardstock and a die from The Cat's Pajama's were used to create the stars.  Light blue cardstock frames the entire card.  A light blue rhinestore was adhered to one of the stars.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onxy Black, and is from a Studio G $1 stamp.

Stay tuned.  There still is one more graduation card to come!

Tea-rific Card

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, AJVD

Happy Monday, if there is such a thing, LOL!  I'm here today to share with you a "tea-rific" card I made using the stamp set "Tea-Time" from A Jillian Vance Design.

I stamped the adorable stacked cups image, and the tea bag image, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers and cut around the images with detailed scissors.

I drew a line onto a piece of light blue cardstock, and then placed the cups into the scene.  I rounded the corners with a corner punch.  The light blue cardstock was then framed with black cardsdtock.  I "hung" the tea bag over the blue cardstock.

Patterned paper from Fancy Pants Design was paper pierced and faux-stitched with a colored pencil.  This was then framed with black cardstock.

The sentiment is also from the set "Tea-Time" and was put onto a flag cut with a MFT die-namic die.  A button tied with Baker's Twine complete this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  Come back soon...another card for tomorrow!

Some Bunny Loves You

Here's an Easter card for that special someone.

To make this card, I cut a heart from a Nestabilities die from white cardstock.  Using the negative, I paper pierced around the heart and place it on top of a piece of pink cardstock.

I stamped the DRS Designs "Big Bunny Face" with Memento Tuxedo Black onto a piece of X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut around the image.  I then placed the image inside the heart, as if it is peeking out.

The sentiment is also from DRS Designs.  It is called "Some Bunny Loves You Greeting" and was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.  I added a button and some Baker's Twine.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Have a great weekend!

Sending Happy Thoughts of Spring

My camera wasn't very cooperative in capturing the pink card panel, but I thought I'd share this with you any way.  I'm thinking most of you would take any thing spring related at this point.  WHEN WILL THIS WINTER EVER END?

I stamped the tulip from A Jillian Vance Design's Spring In Bloom set with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut with detailed scissors. I stamped the butterflies, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  I added highlights with Diamond Stickles.

I cut a circle with a Nestabilities die.  I paper pierced around the circle.

I stamped the sentiment from the Hello Sunshine set, also from A Jillian Vance Design, Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a strip of white cardstock.

I arranged and adhered all elements onto patterned paper (sorry, source unknown). I paper pierced this larger panel and rounded the corners with a punch.  I added three white brads.

I'm going to keep making springtime cards.  It's got to work eventually, right?!

Bunny Hugs

I think we will all be mighty happy when we see a little guy like hopping around in our grass (not snow) covered yards.  Come on, spring!  We welcome you with open arms.

This is a card I made using the set "Hello, Spring" from A Jillian Vance Design.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some Spectrum Noir paper I picked up at Archiver's closing sale (I do like it...a cheaper alternative for sure).  I colored the image with Copic markers and did some shading with Prismacolor pencils.

I cut around the image with a Nestabilities circle die.

Patterned paper from Darcie was used for the card panel.  I dry embossed it with a folder and sponged with Distress Ink Spun Sugar.  I paper pierced and faux stitched with a colored pencil.

I framed with all panels with pink cardstock, and stamped a strip of pink cardstock with the sentiment.  I added pink buttons and Baker's Twine for the finishing touches.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  Now, how about a visit from spring, LOL.

    Irish Blessing

Today is the first day of February.  Cardmakers are always working ahead so it should come as no surprise that I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share with you.  I'm hoping McDonald's will get on the St. Patrick's Day bandwagon with me and start serving up those yummy shamrock shakes...I'm ready!

For my card, I used an image and sentiment that will be coming soon to the DRS Designs website.  I stamped the sentiment (1100G) with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock.  I cut around the sentiment with a die, paper pierced around the panel and lightly sponged with Adirondack Lettuce dye.

I stamped the border of shamrocks (1080F) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a strip of X-Press It cardstock that was cut with a die.  I colored the shamrocks with Copic markers. I stamped the shamrocks again onto a scrap piece of X-Press It cardstock for some extra shamrocks.

The larger card panel is a piece of green cardstock that was repeatedly stamped with DRS Designs "Lines O'Plenty Background" using Adirondack Lettuce dye.  I paper pierced around this panel and faux-stitched with a white colored pencil.

Here's to a great weekend.  Those shakes should be arriving any day now, LOL!

    Happy Hogidays

I'm still here! What a week! I'm thinking you wouldn't believe the details if I told you, so I'll just say I'm declaring today a day for staying in my PJs and stamping all day long, LOL!

I wanted to share with you a Christmas card today.  I made it using a new image and sentiment from DRS Designs (1047G & 1038B...too new for the website but they can still be ordered).  I stamped the adorable Santa Leonard Pig with Memento Tuxedo Black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The sentiment "Happy Hogidays" (LOL!) was also stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.

I cut the image panel with a Nestabilities die and paper pierced around the panel.  The red cardstock panel was dry embossed and randomly stamped DRS Designs "Splatter Background" with Adirondack Snow Cap pigment ink.

A sheer white ribbon completes the details on this card.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and sticking with me!  Have a great weekend!

    Halloween Accessories

    Happy Halloween!

One of my favorite things about Halloween are the colors.  I guess this card tries to capture the fun of Halloween colors.

All stamps are from DRS Designs (right now the website is down, so I am sorry I can't provide links directly to the stamps used).  I can share with you that I stamped the main image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock.  I colored the image with various colored pencils and used Pan Pastels for the bright orange background.  I added some reddish-orange dots with a Tombow marker.  I framed the image with black cardstock.

The chevron background was stamped using Whispers Savoy Green.  I paper pierced around this panel and faux stitched with a colored pencil.  I added a bow, and the sentiment which is also from DRS Designs.

Hope you have all of your Halloween accessories ready, from candy to costumes.  Enjoy this fun day and thank you for visiting my blog.
