Moon and Back

AJVD, Kecia Waters, galaxy, moon, Kuretake Gansai Tambi, moon and back
If you have been following me long enough, you know how I love to make ocean scenes on my cards.  Now, I'm going to add something to my "I LOVE DOING THIS" list...Galaxy Backgrounds.  These types of cards seemed to fill my social media streams last week and I just had to try my hand at one.  LOVE!!!!

I made this using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor set.  I simply added blues and purples to a panel of Ranger watercolor paper.  Over and over again.  Blotting with a paper towel.  Sometimes heat-setting.  The final layer of color was black watercolor, blotted with a paper towel.  The result?  This background.  LOVE!!!

The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design, stamped in Hero Arts White Unicorn pigment ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder.  The "moon" is a result of sponging a Ranger mini ink blending foam repeatedly with Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.  A few purple sequins were added, along with some dots of Copic White for the stars.

Hopping With Fun

My friend needs a birthday card for her son who likes frogs.  I found this image I colored almost two years ago that I never made into a card.  Sometimes things just work perfectly when you don't plan things.

The image is from the older stamp set "Rainy Day Fun" from Kraftin' Kimmie.  The sentiment is from DRS Designs.

Here's hoping your upcoming week is hopping with fun.

Monkey Around

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, monkey
Here's a fab card for a Fab Friday at Tiddly Inks!

Yes, that's right.  I'm thinking this one is fabulous.  Am I allowed to say that?

I kept this card very CAS, because I truly didn't want to distract from this adorable digital image from Tiddly Inks called "Monkey Around".  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. I added some little dots with Willow dye ink from Simon Says Stamps using a stamp from Stamps By Judith.  Just to give the background a bit of interest.

The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design.

And there you have it.  My fabulous contribution for Fab Friday.  (Gee, I wish I could say that all the time, LOL).

Proud as a Peacock

There She Goes, Kecia Waters, peacock, Copic markers
I made this card just for fun.  Trying to get my coloring muse back.

I decided to you an image from There She Goes...oh how I miss that company!  This is from the set Zoo-pendous.  I am thrilled to have possession of many TSG sets, but in my warped thinking, I hardly ever ink any of them because I tell myself that I'm not worthy of them and I won't do them justice.  I'm a dork like that.  So, I guess you can say I'm proud of myself for just showing the image a little ink and love.

The background was created with a MFT cover-up die.

Perhaps I should ink up a few more animals in this set?  We'll see.

Two Dachshund Cards

Whimsy Stamps, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, dachshund
My Mom's birthday is later this week, so I took advantage of this day off to get a card in the mail to her.  No worries, she doesn't read this blog.

This card features the Whimsy Stamps image of Dachshund Balloon.  I stamped the image and colored with Copic markers.  I used a clarity stencil brush for the first time and applied some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores dye ink in the background.  I added some Glossy Accents to the balloons and added a few sequins.  The sentiment is also from the Dachshund Balloon stamp set.  On the inside I stamped an additional sentiment....Stretch out the celebration as looooooooong as you can.

Also posted is a card very similar.  Just doodled an extra balloon and some grass.

We Just Click

AJVD, Kecia Waters, camera, Valentine
So, I'm really liking this camera image from A Jillian Vance Design's "Picture Perfect" stamp set.  So much so you'll probably see it again because the set itself is so versatile and can be used year round.

You can read all about this card on the AJVD blog today.  Go ahead.  Click.

Lots of Dachshund Love

Recollections, Kecia Waters, dachshund, love, Valentine
I made this card to justify buying yet another dachshund stamp.  This time, the image is a part of a cheapo stamp set from Michael's Recollections line.  Cheap quality, but I bought the set with a 60% coupon, so I didn't do too terrible.  Recollections did though...this dachshund you see actually has a sweater on and it looked hideous, so I purposely neglected to ink that part.  Be glad I didn't.  Also used on this card is a pawprint embossing folder from Darice that I dug in a big box for at a convention.  The sentiment is from AJVD.

Not a bad card.  And, the dog WITHOUT THE STUPID SWEATER looks a lot like Sloopy.

Back again tomorrow with another post.  Could there be a little mojo happening?  I'm telling you, it left me during Christmas and has rarely shown its face since.

Octopi My Heart

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, octopus, Valentine
It's Tiddly Tuesday!!! It's been a while, hasn't it?

Christy Croll gave us all a nice Tiddly vacation to rest and recharge.  Now the design team is back, better than ever, for a fun and fabulous 2017.

Today kicks off a new challenge over on the challenge blog.  The challenge is "love".  I thought this fun digital image by Tiddly Inks, Octopi My Heart would be perfect.

I printed Octopi My Heart onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored with Copic markers and added a few white highlights using a gel pen.  I also adhered a few glass bubbles to complete the details on this card.

Sure hope you join us for this challenge.  You can read about all of the challenge deets over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blhttp://tiddlyinkschallenge.blogspot.com/og.
