Hopping With Fun

My friend needs a birthday card for her son who likes frogs.  I found this image I colored almost two years ago that I never made into a card.  Sometimes things just work perfectly when you don't plan things. 

The image is from the older stamp set "Rainy Day Fun" from Kraftin' Kimmie.  The sentiment is from DRS Designs.

Autumn Leaves

I have loved this image from Sassy Cheryl's now, but for whatever reason I am just now using it.  Such a great fall image called "Autumn Leaves".

For this card, I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers.  I framed the image with black cardstock and placed onto a panel of Bo Bunny patterned paper.  I added a button embellishment and stamped a partial sentiment from DRS Designs with Versafine Onyx Black.

Reflective Frog Birthday Wishes

I am having a ball grabbing some previously used images and inking them again and coloring them up.

This adorable from is from DRS Designs.  I stamped the image onto X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and cut with detailed scissors and set aside.  Then on a piece of X-Press It cardstock cut with a Nestabilities oval die, I stamped the frog again, colored the water and grass with Copics, and made the clouds with Pan Pastels.  I adhered the colored frog to the scene, and used Diamond Glaze to add reflection to the water.  The oval was framed with black cardstock.

No clue on the maker fo the patterned paper, but I do know it is a scrap from JoAnn's.  I added a couple buttons, and twine, and then paper pierced and faux stitched with a colored pencil.  The sentiment is from MFT and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

He Has Risen

Here's another card I'd like to share with you.  Isn't it amazing what I can get done during Spring Break?  Seems like I have a blog post every day.

To make this card, I brayered Adirondack Sunshine Yellow dye onto a piece of white cardstock.  I sponged Adirondack Butterscotch and Adirondack Sunset Orange dye inks along the bottom of the cardstock.

I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Three Wooded Crosses" onto the cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the image with a black Copic marker, so the crosses and ground appeared to be silhouette.  I then stamped the DRS Designs "He Has Risen!" with Versafine Onyx Black.

For the bright sun in the corner, I sponged on Brilliance Moonlight White.

I framed the card with black cardstock.

Some Bunny Loves You

Here's an Easter card for that special someone.

To make this card, I cut a heart from a Nestabilities die from white cardstock.  Using the negative, I paper pierced around the heart and place it on top of a piece of pink cardstock.

I stamped the DRS Designs "Big Bunny Face" with Memento Tuxedo Black onto a piece of X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut around the image.  I then placed the image inside the heart, as if it is peeking out.

The sentiment is also from DRS Designs.  It is called "Some Bunny Loves You Greeting" and was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.  I added a button and some Baker's Twine.

Praying Bunny

I'm pleased to be bringing you this adorable "Praying Bunny" from DRS Designs.  I paired it with "Blooming Easter Greeting".

To make this card, I stamped the image with Memento Desert Sand dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image using Copic markers using the no lines technique.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

A punch rounded the corners.

I placed the image panel onto kraft cardstock, and added a sheer white ribbon, button and Baker's Twine for the finishing touches.

Kiss Me

Another snow day means another day/night for me to sit around and color.  I love it.  Right now I'm a little obsessed with coloring hair, so I decided to color this gorgeous image from Tiddly Inks called "Kiss Me".

I printed "Kiss Me" on X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and then added a little shimmer to the dress with chalk (though you can't really see it in the photo).  I framed the image with black cardstock, and then adhered to patterned paper layers from The Paper Studio and Bo Bunny. 

The sentiment is from DRS Designs and is called "Unfrogettable Greeting".

I had fun with this one.  Should come in handy next week for Valentine's Day too.

Irish Blessing

Today is the first day of February.  Cardmakers are always working ahead so it should come as no surprise that I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share with you.  I'm hoping McDonald's will get on the St. Patrick's Day bandwagon with me and start serving up those yummy shamrock shakes...I'm ready!

For my card, I used an image and sentiment that will be coming soon to the DRS Designs website.  I stamped the sentiment (1100G) with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock.  I cut around the sentiment with a die, paper pierced around the panel and lightly sponged with Adirondack Lettuce dye.

I stamped the border of shamrocks (1080F) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a strip of X-Press It cardstock that was cut with a die.  I colored the shamrocks with Copic markers. I stamped the shamrocks again onto a scrap piece of X-Press It cardstock for some extra shamrocks.

The larger card panel is a piece of green cardstock that was repeatedly stamped with DRS Designs "Lines O'Plenty Background" using Adirondack Lettuce dye.  I paper pierced around this panel and faux-stitched with a white colored pencil.

Here's to a great weekend.  Those shakes should be arriving any day now, LOL!

Hello, Spring

 

I am so *sick* of winter!  That might not be the nicest thing to say but these extreme cold temperatures are getting to me. Perhaps I need a little Vitamin D, LOL.  I decided that for this card, I needed to make my own little spring.  I only allowed myself to use warm colors and flowers.  It was a nice little escape.

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Medium Daisy Bloom" three times with Marvy black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored them with Copic markers and cut around them with detailed scissors.  I added transparent pink buttons and Baker's Twine to the flower centers.

The card panel is a pink sheet of cardstock repeatedly stamped DRS Designs "Lines O'Plenty Background" using Adirondack Mountain Rose dye ink.  A strip of white cardstock was used, along with a die cut "hello" from Paper Smooches using black cardstock.  I placed the flowers onto the card panel.

My hope this card brings you a little warmth and helps you to believe in the promise of spring. 

So Sorry Calla Lily

Sympathy cards are hard to make.  I thought I'd share one I made for the "I'm Sorry" challenge over on the DRS Designs Blog.  If you have a chance, play along for your chance to win some free stamps.

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs "Calla Lily Sympathy Frame" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut around the frame.

I placed the framed image onto a piece of white cardstock that was dry embossed.  I framed this panel with black cardstock, added a sheer white ribbon and bow, along with a black button.

Very CAS.

Monochromatic Tom and Tilly

This heartfelt Mo Manning image is from Penny Black and is called "Tom and Tilly".

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  The entire image was colored with Copic markers (W00 throughW6), with the exception of the flowers.  The sentiment is from DRS Designs.  I rounded the corners with a punch.

LOVE how this turned out.  I think thing monochromatic coloring is easy than using multiple colors.

Cured Yet?

Three day weekends can cure just about anything, don't you think?  Here is a recent get well card I thought I'd share with you today.

I stamped the DRS Designs "Leonard Pig Sickday Blues" with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.   I stamped a portion of DRS Designs "Cured Yet? Greeting" onto the image panel.  I cut the circle with a Nestabilities die and framed it with black cardstock.

The larger panel of cardstock is lightly stamped with Adirondack Seashell Pink dye with the DRS Designs "Line O'Plenty Background".  A black banner was added to the card, along with buttons and Baker's Twine.

Shell-don and Shell-y

These turtles are happily in love.  I bet they are going to have a wonderful upcoming Valentine's Day together, LOL.

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Shell'don the Turtle" onto X-Press It cardstock with Marvy black dye.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut with my detailed scissors.  Then I had the idea to reverse stamp "Shell'don the Turtle" to create another turtle facing in the opposite direction.  Perhaps let's name the turtle couple, Shell'don and Shell'y.

I placed the turtles onto a scene I created by sponging clouds with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass.  I used a MFT die-namics to cut the grass from green cardstock.  The hearts coming from one of the turtles are actually part of the DRS Designs image "First Love Cutie Pie Kids".  The speech bubble was cut from a die from A Jillian Vance Design and the sentiment is from  DRS Designs "I Love You Greeting".  I framed the scene with black cardstock and mounted on a pink cardstock panel.

Enjoy what's left of the week.  Unlike these turtles, the weekend seems to fly right by, don't you think?

First Love

She looks surprised, doesn't she? 

I made this card for the current DRS Designs Blog Challenge, "Boys and Girls".  I knew I wanted to use this adorable DRS Designs image called "First Love Cutie Pie Kids".  I stamped it with Marvy Black dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  Using the out-of-the-box technique and a Nestabilities die, I cut the image panel and framed it with black cardstock.

One layer is a pink sheet of cardstock run through my Cuttlebug with a Sizzix dry embossing folder.  The largest layer is a piece of white glossy cardstock, that was stamped repeatedly with Versamark Watermark and heated with a heat gun.  Using the resist technique, I applied Distress Ink Spun Sugar to the cardstock and wiped with a paper towel.

The sentiment is from DRS Designs and is called "One Line Valentine Greeting".  It was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto a strip of white cardstock. Finishing touches include a pink button and a small piece of Baker's Twine.

To the Moon and Back

Time to start with the Valentine cards.

On a black sheet of cardstock, using a negative of a circle cut from a Nestabilities die, I sponged on Brillance Moonlight White pigment ink.  Using Brilliance Platinum Planet pigment ink, I stamped a few of the circles from the DRS Designs "Interlocking Circle Background".  I did some shading with some gray colored pencils.  I added a heart cut with a punch.

I then randomly stamped DRS Designs "Splatter Background" onto the black cardstock with Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.  I also stamped DRS Designs "Love You To the Moon Greeting" with the same ink.

Then using a smaller negative of a circle cut with a Nestabilities die, I sponged Brilliance Platinum Planet pigment ink, along with a hint of Colorbox Bright Blue Mica Magic pigment ink.

I used a white color pencil to frame the card with a line.

Majestic Pines

Feeling a little flaky?  If you are, be sure to join the challenge on the DRS Designs blog "Frosted Flakes".  Free rubber stamps to one lucky participant, so I sure hope you join us.

For my card, I created a resist background with the DRS Designs image of "Snow Background".  To do this, I stamped the background repeatedly with Versamark Watermark onto glossy white cardstock.  I applied heat with my heat gun, and then added Brilliance Pearlescent Purple pigment ink and Whispers Rio Purple dye directly onto the cardstock.  I used a paper towel to rub the ink off of the snowflakes.

Then using waterbased markers from Tombow and Zig I colored directly onto the DRS Designs stamp of "Silhouette Majestic Pines" and stamped directly onto the glossy cardstock.

Torn white cardstock was added for the snowy ground, and a white cardstock circle for the moon.  I framed this wintery scene with black cardstock.

On a white cardstock base, I stamped a portion of the the DRS Designs "Stepping Back in Time Greeting" with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.

Fore The Golfer

Do you have a golfer in your life?  I don't, but kind of wish I did because wouldn't this card be perfect?  LOL.

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Golf Ball Snowman" onto X-Press It cardstock with Marvy dye ink.  I colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut with detailed scissors. 

Lately I've been addicted to the resist technique for making backgrounds and today is no different.  I randomly stamped DRS Designs "Splatter Background" with Versamark Watermark onto white glossy cardstock.  I applied heat with my heat gun and then smeared Whispers Savoy Green dye and Adirondack Lettuce dye onto the glossy cardstock and wiped with a paper towel.

I inked a portion of DRS Designs "Line of Winter Trees" with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and stamped directly to my now-green glossy cardstock.  I tore some white paper to create a snow-covered ground.  I placed the Golf Ball Snowman into the snowy scene, and added one snowflake brad.

Three Red Buttons

This card was inspired by this week's challenge on the DRS Designs Blog, "Three's Company".  The challenge is to incorporate three of something on your card.  I have three small red buttons on the snowman to meet the requirements.  Make sure you play along.  Free rubber stamps is up for grabs!

To make this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Silhouette Snowflake Snowman"onto black cardstock with Versamark Watermark.  I heat embossed with Judikins White Diamonds embossing powder and cut with my detailed scissors.  I added some Baker's Twine for the scarf and three small buttons.

Then to create a snowy scene for the snowman, I dry embossed a piece of black cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder.  I did some direct-to-paper with Brilliance Moonlight White pigment ink.  I added some torn paper for the snow-covered ground and added some Crystal Stickles.  A slight gray shadow for the snowman was added with a Copic marker.

Poinsettia Christmas

I've been envisioning this card for a while now, and with Christmas so close, I knew I had better get this card done.

To make this card I used the gorgeous DRS Designs "Giant Poinsettia".   I stamped the image twice onto X-Press It cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black dye.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I did a faint spray of Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz onto the petals and added some crystal Stickles to the small berries in the middle.  I cut the twice stamped flowers with my detailed scissors and set aside.

I then preformed the resist technique on a glossy piece of cardstock. I repeatedly stamped DRS Designs "Polka Dot Background" with Versamark Watermark.  I applied some heat, and then applied Adirondack Pool dye onto the panel.  I used a paper towel to move and wipe off the ink. I framed this panel with black cardstock.

I then arranged the flowers onto this background panel I had created.  A portion of the flowers were cut, allowing just a small portion of one poinsettia to show.  I did use a Memento Tuxedo Black marker to ink up the swirl portion of the image and directly stamp onto the background panel.

Using DRS Designs "Christmas Multi Greeting" I inked up one "Merry Christmas" using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and stamped directly onto the background panel.

Valentine Cutie

 

I'm very stuck on this CAS layout, LOL!  But that's okay, because this week's challenge on the DRS Designs Blog is "Anything Goes".  Right now, this layout is the only thing I have going, LOL!

I decided to take a break from my Christmas cards and start building my Valentine's Day stash (and the be truthful, it was still on my workspace from Saturday's post).  

The image used on this card is DRS Designs "Sweet Offering Cutie Pie Kid".  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I stamped DRS Designs "One Line Valentine Greeting" also with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink.

A strip of pink cardstock was placed along the top of the card, the base corners were rounded with a punch, and Baker's Twine and a button were added.

Very CAS, but I think that's how to really draw attention to the image itself.
