Fungi

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, fungi
Last week, I posted a card for the A Jillian Vance Design blog.   Truth be told, I wasn't pleased with it, but it had to do for the moment.  I had a chance to rework the card, and now, I'm liking it.

Using the mushroom image from AJVD's "Oh, Nuts", I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Hammermill Color Copy.  I made a mask, and then sponged a circle using a negative cut with a Nestabilities die.  Inks used include Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Adirondack Lettuce.  I then removed the mask, and colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment, which cracks me up, is also from "Oh, Nuts".  It was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  A few white enamel dots complete the details for this card.

Hooray for do-overs!

Oh, Snap!

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Without going into details about the past week, I needed some coloring therapy.  This adorable digital image from Sassy Cheryl's, "Nimble Musicians of the Air" seemed to soothe my mind and soul.

Colored with Copic markers on Hammermill Copy Paper.  A strip of Kaisercraft patterned paper is along the side.

Here's to a new week!  With much more creating, coloring, and health for all!

Sandman Shaker Card

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, sandman, shaker card, A Jillian Vance Design

A sandman on the beach.  Ingenious or crazy, I'm not sure.

You can read all about this card on today's blog post for A Jillian Vance Design.  It was made with the awesome Sam E Snowman shaker die

And yes, that's real sand from my favorite beach.  Ah, the shores of North Carolina.  Take me there!

Get Well Balloon

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Perhaps I should put this in an envelope and mail it to myself.  Two and a half weeks of bronchitis and I'm going nuts with it.  Hope to be on the mend soon.

This card was actually made at the request of my husband.  He needed a card for a long time friend.

The digital image is from Sassy Cheryl's and is called "Who Burst Your Balloon?".  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Here's to health for all!

Another Snoopy Card

Another Snoopy card.  It's the result of some scraps, which is always fun to use.

I stamped Snoopy from Stampabilities with Versafine Onyx Black onto a circle panel. I covered Snoopy with masking film, and sponged Distress Ink Tumbled Glass for the sky. The ground was colored with Copic markers.

I framed the circle with a black circle, and placed onto a square card panel (sorry, it was a scrap---unknown source). I added three enamel dots, and stamped my sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design onto the card with Versafine Onyx Black.

Makes for a cute card, I think.  No sense throwing scraps away.

Thank You Snoopy

Stampabilities, Distress Inks, Kecia Waters
Somewhat a departure for me, but still fun.  This is a thank you card I made with Distress Inks.

I rubbed and smeared my Distress Ink Scattered Straw and Distress Ink Wild Honey ink pads onto a sheet of acetate.  I misted with water then smooched the acetate onto watercolor paper.  Once I liked the look, I set the paper aside to dry.

In the meantime, I stamped "Happy Snoopy" from Stampabilites with Versafine Onyx Black onto white cardstock and fussy cut.  I adhered Snoopy to my watercolor panel.  Then, I stamped the sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design with Versafine Onyx Black.

Sometimes it is just fun to play and experiment.  That's what this card was all about, Charlie Brown.

Sailing

Rubbernecker, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, stain glass, UTEE
Happy Monday!  Today I am posting a card I made last week for a recent Splitcoast Challenge.

The image is a large one, from Rubbernecker.  Sadly, I do believe it has been discontinued (I purchased it at a used stamp sale last year in Cincinnati).

I colored the image with Copic markers.  Then I took a Versamark Watermark pad and directly dabbed the pad over the entire image.  Then, I covered the image with clear UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel).  I applied heat with my heat gun.  Then repeated with Versamark and more UTEE with heat.

Rubbernecker, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Hint:  I contained the UTEE, as it flies everywhere when heat is applied, in a cigar box.  I keep one for all of my work with UTEE.

I then placed the finished image onto a panel of brown cardstock, added a button with twine, and called her done.

I am very pleased with the results.  Can't wait to do this with other stain glass images.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today.

My Little Dog

Serendipity Stamps, Kecia Waters, dog, Copic markers
A card like this made by me should surprise no one.  It's what I do to relax and take a quick trip to the beach in my mind.

It does feature the dog stamp and sentiment from Serendipity Stamps from the set "Be The Person."

I've always been curious as to whether or not Sloopy would like the ocean or be frightened by it.

I'm a cardmaking machine right now, so come back often.   Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Home Is Wherever You Park

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, camper, multimedia coloring
It appears like I am stuck on this layout.  And I've been "parked" at home all week with bronchitis.  I think I'm finally starting to overcome it.  Yay me!

Head on over to the A Jillian Vance Design blog to see this card featured and all of the deets.  I used my normal stuff on it, along with some sponging of dye inks and some multimedia coloring with shading from Prismacolor pencils.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today.  I sure appreciate it!

Just Relax

Terry Medaris Art Stamps, Kecia Waters, Prismacolor pencils, southwest

It's time to relax.  That's what my calendar says.  And that's exactly all I'm doing.  No complaints.

This image is from Terry Medaris Art Stamps and is called "Just Relax".  I stamped the image onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth with Stazon Jet Black.  I colored with Prismacolor pencils only (no gamsol).

That's it...the image does all the work.

And work, I am not.  LOVE SUMMER!

It's A Pair-A-Fox

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copics, fox

I am smiling at this card because I suggested this sentiment when the A Jillian Vance Design stamp set "Out Foxed" was being designed by Whimsie Doodles. Perhaps my sense of humor is warped.

You know the drill on this, right?  Copic markers, X-Press It cardstock, Memento Tuxedo dye ink, Versafine Onyx Black.  Should be no mystery to you.

You can see this card featured on the AJVD blog today.  Go visit.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

Red and White Umbrella

I'm not sure what I think of this card.  Sometimes I like it.  Other times I'm thinking not so much.

But there's nothing wrong with the adorable image from the Sassy Cheryl's digital stamp set "It's All in Sam's Approach".   I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock, colored the image with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from MFT and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Raindrops on the umbrella were created by adhering UTEE to the umbrella with gluestick, then heating with a heat gun..
