You Make My Heart Sing

Kraftin Kimmie, Cheryl Grant, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

This is a Valentine I made using the Kraftin' Kimmie set "You're A Rockstar" by Cheryl Grant.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers. I masked it with masking film. Then I stamped a large background music stamp from Hero Arts with SeaShells Sandal (note to self, use something darker), and sponged around the image panel.  The sentiment is from the Kraftin' Kimmie set, and the heart was cut from a scrap of Graphic 45 patterned paper, using a Nestabilities die.

This card seems perfect for the current challenge (#261) on the Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Blog, "Sing A Song".

Thanks SNOW Much

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters
I found myself needing a thank you card, and I am delighted as to how quickly this one came together.  And, I'm liking that pop of white.

You can read all about this card over on the A Jillian Vance Design blog today.  Here are the highlights:  AJVD Frosty Stamp and Die Collection, an old Observation Survey textbook, kraft cardstock, Bo Bunny scrap, Versafine Onyx Black, and a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.  That's really all you need to know on this CAS card, LOL.

Thanks SNOW much for visiting my blog today.

Blonde and Pink

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Valentine

I had so much fun coloring Tiddly Inks "You Are On My Mind" on this card yesterday, that I decided to print it again and color it again.  Why not?

Colored with Copic markers. This time I deviated and made her blond (YR20, E34, E35) and used a pink color scheme for the hearts.  The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.   No clue where the patterned paper strip is from, but I wish I had more, LOL.

Not much more to say.  Let's see what else I can color, shall we?  Come back soon.

You Are On My Mind, Valentine

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Valentine

I've been off a week, and I am just finally sitting down to color.  Talk about needing to de-stress, LOL!

With Christmas over, it is time to move on to cards for the next major holiday.  Here's a Valentine's card I made using "You Are On My Mind" from Tiddly Inks.  I had a blast coloring her, and will probably color her again in a different color scheme when it is all said and done.

Colored with Copics onto Hammermill Color Copy, with a strip of washi tape along the side.  A couple buttons with Baker's Twine complete the card.  Very CAS.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Hopefully, you'll be seeing more spontaneous creations like this during the next week, so come back soon!

Dachshund Through The Snow

I present to you the official 2014 Christmas card.  Very few were made, so if you got one from me, consider it a very limited edition, LOL.  Not sure why, but I wasn't really into making Christmas cards this year, even though I like how this one turned out.  Sadly, I think that sending cards at Christmas is a dying art.

Even so, I still enjoy cardmaking, and hope to get my Etsy shop ready for Valentine's Day, Easter and general birthday, anniversary, babies, etc.  I kinda fumbled the ball for Christmas, in terms of my card store.

This card was made with a new stamp set from Newton's Nook.  It is called "Holiday Hounds".  Anyone who knows me, would know that when I saw it I had to have it, LOL.

Anyway, if you are one of the few who come here to my blog, I want you to know how much I appreciate your visits.  I truly make cards because I want someone to look at them and appreciate them as much as I do.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  May your day, and upcoming year be filled with happiness, good health, and a card or two in your mailbox.

Snowman Shaker Card

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, shaker card
Confession...I'm starting to really get into making shaker cards.  Couldn't be any easier to do, thanks to the Sam E. Snowman Shaker Die Set from A Jillian Vance Design.  Today's Monday, so head on ever to the AJVD Blog to read how very simple it is to make a snowman shaker.  Hmm...next year's Christmas cards, perhaps?

Keep stopping by my blog...I've got some time off, so you know what that means...MORE TIME FOR CARD MAKING!  Yay!

Solitary Cardinal

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters, Whimsie Doodles, cardinal

It's Monday.  That means there's a post over on the A Jillian Vance Design blog detailing how I made this card.  I hope you visit.

Speaking of visits, I hope a cardinal visits me soon.  There's a little story behind this card.  A few days ago online, I saw mention of how cardinals are actually visits from a loved one who has passed.  Two years ago this week, I lost one of my dear friends to pancreatic cancer.  She is on my mind, and in my heart, and I miss her so much.  Out of all my friends, I thinks she appreciated my handmade cards the most. I miss sending her one, and hearing her thank you that followed. I think she would have liked this one.  I hope I see a cardinal in my yard at some point this holiday season.  I would like to think it would be a visit from Karen.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

I Got Your Nose

Sassy Cheryl's, Squigglefly, Kecia Waters, multimedia

This card is truly a result of me just playing around.  I printed the digital image of "I Got Your Nose", available from Sassy Cheryl's and Squigglefly, onto kraft cardstock.  I colored the image with a combination of Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I have always loved the pop of white on kraft.  The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  The finishing touches on this card are a sheer white ribbon, a button, and some twine.

I made this card to play along over on the Squigglefly Challenge Blog.  It's an easy one...make a holiday card.  Make sure you join in on the fun on Squigglefly's last challenge of the year.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.  I truly appreciate it, as I know what a busy time of year it is for us all.  Another post in a few hours, so come back soon!

Winter Wonderland

Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, A Jillian Vance Design
Isn't it hard to believe it is December already?  Where has this year gone?  This is a card that I am sharing over on the A Jillian Vance Design blog today.  Make sure you visit to find out how I did this background, okay?

The stamp set I used is AJVD's "Winter Woodland" by Whimsie Doodles, and some good old fashioned sponging.  Minimal Copic work on this, and some dots of Copic White.

Though I am back to work today, I am happy to report I made a serious dent in my Christmas card production over the weekend.  Yay me!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Have a great week!

Snow Much Fun

Squigglefly, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Unless it gives me a day off, I'm not much into the snow.  But this cute little dog sure is.  He's having a blast.

This card features the soon-to-be-released (December 5) digital image from James Horvath called "Dog Tricks".  It will be available from Squigglefly.

I decided to use this image for the current challenge on the Squigglefly Challenge Blog.  The challenge is to create a holiday card, but not use the traditional colors of red and green.

I printed the image on Hammermill Color Copy paper and also printed the image onto masking film.  I cut the mask and put it over my image.  I sponged Distress Ink Peacock Feather onto the card panel and flicked some droplets of water onto the panel.  I added some dots with Copic white to create some snow.  I removed the mask and colored the dog with Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment from Repeat Impressions with Versafine Onyx Black and added three snowflake charms.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today!  Another post in a few hours!

Hey Hot Dog!

Some Odd Girl, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, dachshund

This is a card I made for my Dad.  Today is his birthday, which means he shares his birthday with Thanksgiving, and will probably end up sharing his meal with Sloopy.  I made this card for him, because he will probably see this very look at his feet.  He can't resist her.

I made the card using images and the sentiment from Some Odd Girl's "Preppy Pups".  I'm thinking you can pretty much figure out everything I did, right?  Copic markers, shading with a Prismacolor pencil, Nestabilities circles, sponging, paper piercing, MFT die-namics flag, button, Baker's Twine.  I think the patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs.

Have a great Thanksgiving!  I am thankful you stopped by my blog, and I am even more thankful I will spend my day with my Dad on his birthday.

Ohio State Coaster

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters
At 3:19 pm this past Saturday, it became M!ch*g@n Week.  So, in honor of that, I decided to make an Ohio State coaster.  'Cause that's what Ohio State is going to do this Saturday...Coast.  If not, I will probably go into a deep mourning and kick something, hurt my toe and say many choice words.  You've been warned, LOL.

I've made a coaster like this once before, and I will say, they do hold up (like a Buckeye!).  I've had it on my desk for a year and a half at work, with sweaty water bottles and my beloved Diet Coke.

You can read all about this Buckeye coaster over on the A Jillian Vance Design Blog.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Make it a great week!

Go Buckeyes!  Beat scUM!

Penguin Trio

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, penguins

Here's a penguin card for this chilly Monday morning.  You can read all about it today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

To make this card, I used masking film that I purchased back in August at Stampaway.  Let's just say, I'm in love with it.  Yay!

Have a super week.  And stay warm.  I'm thinking this cold, snowy weather is here just a bit early this year.

A Great Year Ahead

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

I got out some bright oranges, greens and blues and had some fun coloring up the digital stamp "All About Dad" by Cheryl Grant.  It is available from Sassy Cheryl's stamps and Squigglefly.  I'm thinking it is a perfect image for New Years or a Birthday card.  I paired it with a new sentiment from Squigglefly called "Best of the Year".

Playing along with the Squigglefly blog's current challenge, "Make a Square Card", I printed the image and sentiment and colored with Copic markers.  I placed the image panel a bright blue sheet of cardstock, and sponged some circles with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass with a stencil.  A happy accident of a small scrap of orange and white striped paper from The Paper Studio was placed along the bottom of the card.  An orange enamel dot, sheer white ribbon and crystal beads put some fun finishing touches on this card.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Oh Christmas Tree

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Christmas

Here's a card I made using an image from the Sassy Cheryl's stamp set "It Takes One To Know One".  Isn't she sweet in her Christmas tree dress?

I colored the image with Copic markers,  I added some Diamond Glaze to the two ornaments she is holding.  I put some Wink of Stella on her star accessories.

Patterned paper from Jillibean Soup forms the square card panel.  The sentiment from Impression Obession was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. Red ribbon, button and Baker's Twine put the finishing touches on this card.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today.

Holly & Swirls

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters, holly, Christmas

I made this card this weekend using the A Jillian Vance Design die set "Holly & Swirls."  I had fun sponging the leaves cut from patterned paper and making some of the small berries with my red Viva Pearl Pen.  You can read all about this card my post on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

This card didn't require any coloring.  And, I didn't color all weekend.  Sounds like I'll be a grinch for the rest of the week.  Just warning you all, LOL.  Coloring is my means of weekend relaxing.  Just didn't happen.

Bah Humbug!

In The Meadow

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, snowman

As much as I'm not looking forward to the cold weather and snow, I must admit that I like to make cards with snowmen.  I love the pop of white against blue colored skies.  This card is probably the first of many, LOL.

I made this card with an A Jillian Vance Design Stamp set "In the Meadow" by Whimsie Doodles.  You can read all about this card on my post on the AJVD blog.

Stay warm, I'm afraid the cold weather is now here.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

Snowman Angel

Sassy Cheryl's, Squigglefly, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

So nice to have an extra hour this weekend to color!  Here's a card I made using the image "Fat Round Snowman" by Cheryl Grant

I printed the image onto Hammermill Color Copy Digital paper.  I colored the image with Copic markers, and did some slight shading with Prismacolor pencils.  I added some sparkle to the wings with a clear Wink of Stella pen.

I framed the image with kraft cardstock, and placed on a card panel from Basic Grey.  I paper pierced around this panel, and faux stitched with a color pencil.

A small button with hemp cord, and the sentiment from Impression Obsession stamped with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy, complete the details of this card.

This week's challenge on the Squigglefly blog is to use patterned paper.  Hope you join us for all of the fun.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  Another post to follow in just a few short hours.

A Good Read

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Here's a card I made using the Sassy Cheryl digital image of "Good Read-Maddie".  I think this is such a precious image.

The image was printed onto X-Press It cardstock, and colored with Copic markers.  The kraft panel was stamped with a Hero Arts background stamped using Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy.  The sentiment is from an old MFT stamp set and was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.  A button with hemp cord put the finishing touches on this card.

Have a great weekend!

Brrr!

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Copic markers, Kecia Waters, penguin

So, it is supposed to be in the mid-70's today, and wouldn't you know I'm sharing my first winter card of the season, LOL.

This adorable penguin is from the  A Jillian Vance Design stamp set "Brrr" designed by Whimsie Doodles.  I know I'm going to have some fun with this cute set.  This card is only the beginning, LOL.

You can read all about how I made this card over on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

For the record, I would like it to be mid-70's for the rest of the year.  Just sayin'.

Have a terrific week, and thanks so much for visiting my blog.

Square-y Witch Card

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Halloween
This witch is casting a spell over you...you will now go to the A Jillian Vance Design blog to read all about this card, LOL.

I told you I did lots of coloring this weekend.  I'm as pleased as punch on how this one turned out.  I'm liking the colors.

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Halloween

Have a super fabulous week.  If I end up having a fabulous week, I'll be back with some more cards.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!

So Sloopy

Lynne Stansbery, Kecia Waters, Halloween, Copic markers
I have been a long time admirer of Lynne Stansbery's work on Squigglefly, and especially of this digital image "Come and Get It".  It is so Sloopy.  My little girl can sit and stare and cry for treats for as long as it takes for me to give in to her, LOL.

I must say that this image was easy to color as well, though it looks intimidating.  Lynne Stansbery has already done the shading, so all I did was apply the Copics.  I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copics.  With a Prismacolor pencil, I drew the jack-o-lantern face onto the bowl.  I framed the image with black cardstock and put onto a kraft card front.

The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design's "Frank N. Candy" by Whimsie Doodles.  It was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Special thanks to the sweet Nancy Williams for her adorable card that introduced me to this amazing image in her Splitcoast gallery..."Treats Not Treats".  I haven't forgotten it since.  She inspired me to use it as a Halloween image.  So fun!

This card is for the new challenge on the Squigglefly blog.  The challenge is to make a Halloween card or a card for fall.  Easy, since those of the most fun to make.  Join us!

Prize Pumpkin

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

I have been a coloring machine this weekend and have loved every minute.  Let me share this card using Sassy Cheryl's adorable "Sally's Prize Pumpkin".  Isn't she just adorable and happy?

You know the drill...printed on X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and is from an old Michael's $1 stamp (I throw nothing away, I tell ya!).

Hope you've had a wonderful fall weekend.  Hi, ho, hi, ho...back to work I go!  Some more posts tomorrow, so return to this blog to see the results of my self-proclaimed coloring holiday, LOL!

Funny Card with a Ring of Truth

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Doesn't this sentiment ring true?  LOL.  This is the latest card I made using the A  Jillian Vance Design stamp set "Oh Nuts" by Whimsie Doodles.  I also used AJVD's {die}velop Foto Frames and {die}alogue Bubble Die Set.  You can read all the deets about this card over on the A Jillian Vance Design Blog.

Have a great week, all!  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Wicked Halloween Greetings

A Jillian Vance Design, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Halloween card

How sad is it going to be when this month is over and I can't make fun Halloween cards?  I guess it will be on to Christmas at that point, LOL.

Today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog, I have a post about this card I made using the stamp set "Broom Rides" by Whimsie Doodles.  Hope you fly on over and take a look!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  Busy week ahead...I hope to be back eventually, LOL.

Home Run Hitter

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, baseball

This is one of Cheryl Grant's newest images called "Home Run Hitter".  Perhaps you don't think about baseball in the fall, but those that are diehard fans (not me!) make a big deal about baseball in October.  I know because I have a husband that lives and breathes baseball.  And we're still together, LOL.

I made this card for the current challenge on the Squigglefly Blog.  The challenge is Leaves, as in fall leaves or things that leave.  This baseball is bound to leave the park, right?  LOL.

I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The image panel was cut using a Nestabilities die, as was the black cardstock circle frame.  The pennant is from a scrap piece of patterned paper from The Paper Studio and was cut with a Memory Box die.  The pennant flag was cut from MFT Die-namics, and the sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmies.  The baseball is from There She Goes.  I paper pierced around the image, and the larger piece of patterned paper is from K&Company.   I paper pierced and faux-stitched with a colored pencil.

For now, I'm outta here...just like this baseball.

Bountiful Blessing

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Here's a card featuring a new image from Sassy Cheryl's called "Bountiful Blessing".  I paired it with an old sentiment from MFT.

X-Press It cardstock, Copic markers, Nestabilities, patterned paper from Basic Grey, kraft cardstock and a paper piercer are the ingredients for this particular card.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Autumn Leaves

Sassy Cheryls, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
I have loved this image from Sassy Cheryl's now, but for whatever reason I am just now using it.  Such a great fall image called "Autumn Leaves".

For this card, I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers.  I framed the image with black cardstock and placed onto a panel of Bo Bunny patterned paper.  I added a button embellishment and stamped a partial sentiment from DRS Designs with Versafine Onyx Black.

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Fall leaves are just so pretty.  Until they need to be raked, LOL.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Wreath of Hope

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

As we head into the month of October, the A Jillian Vance Blog is featuring their "Wreath of Hope Stamp and Die Combo", which is perfect for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Here's a CAS card I made with the set.  The card will be for a friend who is right now battling this terrible disease.

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, breast cancer

I do like the versatility of this stamp and die combo.  It can be used for encouragement cards for all diseases (just change to the designated color), as well as cards with holiday wreaths.  My mind is churning.  Stay tuned for more.

Have a wonderful week everyone.  And prayers for my friend.

Broom Rides

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Halloween

So, would you go on a broom ride if you could?  I think I would pass, LOL.  But, I couldn't pass up the newly released "Broom Rides" stamp set from Whimsie Doodles for A Jillian Vance Design.  It is too cute!

You can get all of the details on my post over on the AJVD blog today.  Hope to see you there!

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Halloween

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  I wish you a very Happy Monday!  It's officially fall, so Happy Fall, Y'all!

Bearly A Princess

This card features a newly released digital image from Sandra Caldwell called "Bearly A Princess".  It is available at Squigglefly.

To make this card, I printed "Bearly A Princess" onto X-Press it cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers, and added highlights with Crystal Stickles.  I cut the image panel with a Nestabilities die, and framed it with black cardstock.

Patterned paper (unknown source, it was a scrap), kraft and black cardstock form the layers of this card.

The sentiment and the wand is from an old MFT set.  A button and Baker's Twine complete the details of this card.

This week, the challenge on the Squigglefly Blog is to use at least one of the falling colors...orange, black and purple.  Hope you can join in on the fun.

Another post to follow in six hours, LOL.

Frank Can't Resist Candy Corn

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Halloween, Copic markers

Halloween candy is lining the aisles at the grocery store.  I'm doing everything in my power to resist it, LOL.

I'm not going to resist making Halloween cards.  I just love them, but I don't ever think I've sent one in my life.  Oh well.  The colors make me happy.

If you'd like to read about how I made this card, head on over to the A Jillian Vance Design blog.  I made it with one of the new Halloween sets by Whimsie Doodles called "Frank N Candy".  I do believe I have a crush on Frank.

Have a wonderful week of paper crafting!  I'll be back.  I'm settling into school and getting a routine again.
