Mouse Painter

(if you are looking for today's Repeat Impressions sketch challenge, scroll down)

It's Hambo Hoedown time!

This week, the challenge is to incorporate splattered paint in some fashion into our projects.  Could be patterned paper, or the actual messy process of splattering paint.  You choose how neat or messy you'd like to be.

I went for the fun, messy stuff.  Though as I look at my mouse, I wonder how he escaped any paint droplets, LOL!  I sure didn't!

For my card, I printed the ADORABLE "Mouse Painter" from the Hambo Digital Stamp Shop onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored him with Copic markers.  I cut around this image with my Cutterbee scissors.  I just had to add a Block O onto his hat using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker...thus turning him into a Buckeye Mouse....I just HAD to do it!  Really.

And then, as I read the sentiments that are included with "Mouse Painter", I decided that any Buckeye fan would paint the town SCARLET and GRAY, so I did a little Photoshopping, and omitted the word "red".   I printed this onto scarlet cardstock and hand wrote the colors "scarlet & gray" with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.

Outside on my deck, I had fun splattering some scarlet and gray acrylic paint onto a white cardstock panel. Once dry, I framed my splattered masterpiece with black cardstock and arranged the Buckeye Mouse Painter onto the card.  A small little drop of paint was added to the lower right corner of the card.

I hope you can join in on all of the fun with us at the Hoedown this week. All of the challenge details can be found right here on the Hoedown Blog.  Remember you must use Hambo images to play along...but that's easy to do (there are some freebies here if you don't have any). If you play along this week, you will be sent next week's Hoedown image for free.

When I made this card, I was still on a high from my beloved Buckeyes 56-10 rout against Miami of Ohio.  Woot!  I'm hoping that Florida grad Monica Hunter (owner of Hambo) and Nebraska Cornhusker fan Judy Rozema (DT coordinator of the Bacon Bits) will forgive me, LOL! I promise to behave at next week's Hoedown.

You and your beloved OSU.... You totally make the most creative cards with great ideas that are out of the box! OSU should hire you as a creative director of some sort!
