One Hanging Ornament

It's Wednesday, which means it is time for a "What If? Wednesday Sketch".  You have two weeks to enter your card using the sketch posted on the Repeat Impressions blog...The House That Stamps Built.  All participants will have a chance to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate.  I hope you'll play along with us.

This week's sketch looks like this:

Once again, I'm a sketch rebel.  I just had to flip it, change the shape of the main focal point and omit one of the details.  I guess that's how I  roll, LOL.  For my card, I stamped the Repeat Impressions image of "Ornament Frame" (3814-K) onto a scrap of patterned paper from The Paper Studio with Marvy black dye.  I cut around the ornament with Cutterbee scissors.  Then I stamped the image again with Marvy black dye onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the ornament top with Copic markers and cut.  I adhered the top to The Paper Studio stamped image.  Then using some black ribbon, I tied the ornament like it was hanging, and tied a bow (eliminating one of the smaller details of the sketch).   I "hung" it from a panel of patterned paper from K&Company that I framed in black.  Along the side I placed several snowflakes and stars cut from Cuttlebug dies.  I added three small red buttons on some of the snowflakes.

A definite departure from my normal cards, but nonetheless fun to make.  The more I think about this card, I'm thinking of trying the same layout/ornament on a panel of craft.  That might have a nice look to it.

I wish you a great day!  Enjoy!
