Purple Grad

Kecia Waters, graduation, Copic markers, Sassy Cheryl's

Don't you love it when a challenge aligns with a card you actually need?  Today marks the first day of a two week challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  The ever-so-talented Sassy Dawn challenged us to use at least two dies and at least one shade of purple on our creation.  My husband needed graduation card for a graduate who will be wearing a purple gown...so woot!

To make this card, I printed the Sassy Cheryl's digital image of "Con-grats!" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers (I usually don't work with my Violet purples...but, I'm liking the results on this).  I framed the image with black cardstock, and then using Cuttlebug dies, I cut the numbers 2-0-1-4 from black cardstock.

The card panel is patterned paper from Lasting Impressions.   I arranged the 2-0-1-4 along the side, tied some Baker's Twine, and adhered the image.

The sentiment was inked with Versafine Onyx Black and is from a Michael's $1 stamp.

So grab something purple and a couple of dies and get creating.  You could win digital images from Sassy Cheryl's.  Sure hope you can join us in all of the fun!

Happy Trails

AJVD, "Happy Trails" Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

I squealed with delight when AJVD shared with me that they would be teaming up with Whimsie Doodles.  I have been in LOVE with Melyssa's designs for years, both at Whimsie Doodles and the former There She Goes.

This is a retirement card I made (Buckeye style trailer) using the stamp set AJVD "Happy Trails" by Whimsie Doodles.

To make this card, I stamped the trailer with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  I cut around the image with detailed scissors.

I stamped two trees with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto lime green cardstock.  I cut with detailed scissors and sponged with Adirondack Lettuce dye.  The trunks are colored with a Copic marker.

I sponged a light blue textured piece of cardstock with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass dye.  I adhered a strip of lime green cardstock, sponged with Adirondack Lettuce dye, along the bottom.  I placed the trees and trailer into the scene.  The scene was them framed with black cardstock.  The star trio was stamped three times along the "sky" with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

The scene was then placed onto a white cardstock front, and the sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Stay tuned!  You'll be seeing many more cards on this blog featuring AJVD and Whimsie Doodles!  What a great pairing!

Frantic Graduate

Sassy Cheryl is probably thinking I didn't do a card for her this week, but I needed to wait until *after* someone's graduation.  My friend needed a graduation card for her son, and this is what I designed for her.

I printed the Sassy Cheryl's image of "Frantic Graduate" from the Cap & Gown digital stamp set onto X-Press It paper.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  All of the sentiments and words are computer generated, with some being cut onto speech bubble dies from A Jillian Vance Design.  I framed the scene with black cardstock.  Patterned paper from Little Yellow Bicycle was used for the card panel.  Beige cardstock was cut with a banner die from Memory Box.  A button and some hemp cord complete the details on this card.

Congrats to Big Josh!  I actually made his high school graduation card, seen here:

My Cup Runneth Over

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

It's Monday!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.  I sure did...Sloopy bought me a Route 44 from Sonic, so all was good.

I wanted to share a card that I made for the A Jillian Vance Design Blog today, featuring the stamp set "Tea Time" designed by Becky Schultea.  Perfect for those who chose tea as their beverage of choice.

To make this card, I stamped the tea cup image onto X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut with detailed scissors.  I placed it onto white cardstock that was sponged with Adirondack Salmon dye ink, with a line drew near the bottom for the base.  I added a shadow with a Copic marker, and drew some steam.  This scene was framed with black cardstock.

The kraft cardfront was stamped repeatedly with a bouquet image from "Tea Time" with Adirondack Salmon dye.  I framed this with black cardstock as well.

The sentiment from "Tea Time" was stamped onto a pennant flag cut with a MFT die-namics die.  I added a transparent pink button, tied with Baker's Twine.

A small scrap of patterned paper from Studio Calico was tucked beside the tea scene.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Lots more cards to share...stay tuned!

Sassy Cheryls, Copic markers, Kecia Waters

Woo-hoo!  It's time for another challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  For the next two week's we are being challenge to create a one-layer CAS card.  A challenge totally up my alley, LOL!

I printed a Sassy Cheryl's image from the digital stamp set "All About Polly" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I added a button to the center of the flower and added a little Baker's Twine to the button, and along the top of the card.

The sentiment, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, is from My Favorite Things.

Make sure you join us, as a lucky winner or two will win free digital images from the Sassy Cheryl's store.  You can't beat that!

Tea-rific Card

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, AJVD

Happy Monday, if there is such a thing, LOL!  I'm here today to share with you a "tea-rific" card I made using the stamp set "Tea-Time" from A Jillian Vance Design.

I stamped the adorable stacked cups image, and the tea bag image, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock. I colored them with Copic markers and cut around the images with detailed scissors.

I drew a line onto a piece of light blue cardstock, and then placed the cups into the scene.  I rounded the corners with a corner punch.  The light blue cardstock was then framed with black cardsdtock.  I "hung" the tea bag over the blue cardstock.

Patterned paper from Fancy Pants Design was paper pierced and faux-stitched with a colored pencil.  This was then framed with black cardstock.

The sentiment is also from the set "Tea-Time" and was put onto a flag cut with a MFT die-namic die.  A button tied with Baker's Twine complete this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  Come back soon...another card for tomorrow!

Three Cupcakes

AJVD, Kecia Waters, cupcakes, Copic markers

It's Monday, which means it is my day to post over on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.  If you haven't checked out this blog full of inspiration, what are you waiting for?

I'm sharing this card I made using AJVD's "Birthday Icons by Becky Schultea" stamp set.  I stamped the cupcake image three times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the cupcakes with Copic markers, and added some shimmer using a clear Wink of Stella brush.  I cut around the cupcakes using detailed scissors.

Patterned paper from Bo Bunny, American Crafts, and a strip of vellum form the layout of this card.  The sentiments are from the "Birthday Icons" set as well, and are adhered to the clear button and Baker's Twine.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  And go visit the AJVD blog too!  You'll be glad you did!
