It's Tuesday!  Which means it is time for another challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is "Vintage Creams and White".  Sure hope you'll join us.  There are two free digital images up for grabs for one lucky participant.

For this challenge, I printed the Sassy Cheryl's digital image of  "Pack Your Bags-Sally" onto a piece of cream cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things onto Sally's suitcase using Versafine Onyx Black.  I mounted the image onto a piece of cream cardstock cut with a Nestabilities die.  A little cream heart button with tied with hemp complete this card.

So thankful you decided to visit my blog today.  Make it a great day.

Reindeer Ralph

To make this card, I stamped the DRS image of "Reindeer Ralph" onto X-Press It cardstock using Marvy black dye ink.  I colored him with Copic markers and cut using detailed scissors. Using a red Viva Pearl Pen, I added a red nose.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I brayered SeaShells Cloudy Blue, Adirondack Sail Boat Blue, and Distress Ink Faded Jeans.  I sponged those colors too. I tore a sheet of white cardstock to created the snowy ground.  I added some Crystal Stickles for some sparkle.  I painted the snow in the sky using Copic Opaque White.  I framed the scene with black and light blue cardstock.

I stamped a portion of  the DRS background "Christmas Multi Greeting" using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker onto the snow.  I added a red and white striped ribbon as a finishing touch.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Charming

This week on the DRS Designs Blog the challenge is "Charms".  Sure hope you can play along.

For my card, I used the "charm"ing DRS image "Wintertime Buddies".  I stamped it with Marvy black dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut with detailed scissors.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I brayered SeaShells Cloudy Blue, Adirondack Sail Boat Blue, and Distress Ink Faded Jeans.  I sponged those colors too.  A post-it mask was used to create the snowy ground.  I painted the snow in the sky using Copic Opaque White.  I framed the scene with black and light blue cardstock.

Finishing touches to the card include sheer white ribbon, and a snowflake charm.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  Relax, there are plenty of shopping days left until Christmas, LOL.

Head to the Beach

It's Tuesday!  Which means it is time for another challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is "Best Friends Forever (BFF)".  Sure hope you'll join us.  There are two free digital images up for grabs.

My best friend is my Sloopy, so I totally relate to the relationship Sally and Bella have.  I chose the Sassy Cheryl's digital image of "Sally & Bella Head to the Beach" to use for this challenge.  I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored them with Copic markers and cut with detailed scissors.  On another piece of X-Press It cardstock, using Copic markers and a Uniball Signo White pen, I drew the ocean scene.  I stamped the sentiment from Kraftin Kimmie with Memento Desert Sand. I framed the scene with black cardstock.

Patterned paper from Little Yellow Bicycle was used for the card panel.  It too was framed with black cardstock.  Three small aqua brads were added to the card, as well as some sheer white ribbon.

Have fun, Sally & Bella!  And, you have fun with this week's challenge.  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Frog Sunbather

I love this adorable image from DRS Designs.  It is called "Frog Sunbather".  So fun to color!

For this card, I stamped "Frog Sunbather" with Marvy black dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  Using a Nestabilities die, I cut an oval around the image.  I framed it with black cardstock.

I placed the image onto a piece of light green cardstock and rounded two of the corners with a punch.  I stamped a portion of the DRS sentiment "Unfroggettable Birthday Greeting" using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.

Pink heart ribbon, a clear pink button and some Baker's Twine put the finishing touches on this card.

Hope you can catch some rays today too!  Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Stripes on a Candy Cane

Even though it is only July, lots of card makers out there start thinking about the holidays.  The current challenge on the DRS Design Blog is "Stripes" so I thought ahead to the holidays and thought those minty little peppermint sticks would serve me well.

I stamped the DRS image of "Candy Canes"  with Marvy black dye ink onto Curious Metallics Cryogen white cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers and cut out with detailed scissors.

I stamped the adorable sentiment from DRS Designs, "Candy Cane Greeting" with Marvy black dye ink onto Curious Metallics Cryogen white cardstock.  I colored a portion of it with Copic markers and cut with a Nestabilities die.  I framed the sentiment with black cardstock.

I placed the candy canes and sentiment onto a piece of paper pierced, faux-stitched kraft that is framed with black and red cardstock.  A red and white striped ribbon was added to the card as a finishing touch.

Play Hard or Go Home

It's Tuesday!  Which means it is time for another challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is "Outdoor Fun and Games".  Just take a look of all of the images available in Sassy Cheryl's store and you will see this is an easy challenge to complete with all of the fun images available.

As an obsessed Buckeye fan, I have a pretty low tolerance for "That Team Up North" and with the Sassy Cheryl's image of "Play Hard or Go Home - Sally & Noah" I couldn't help making the card about the rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan (as it does go on and intensify with every passing day...not just once a year).

I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers...Sally as the Buckeye, Noah as the Wolverine.  Unfortunately I had to deface Noah a bit by borrowing Charles M. Schulz's technique for Pig-Pen, as a Wolverine on my card is not going to look as clean and nice as a Buckeye.  I sponged Distress-It Tumbled Glass ink for the clouds.  I framed the image with black cardstock.

On a piece of red cardstock cut with MFT die-namics, I repeatedly stamped a text stamp from a jillian vance design (Ohio Game Day Stamp Set) with Versafine Onyx Black.  A small red button and Buckeye Blend Twine from a jillian vance design were added to the card.

The sentiment "Oh, It's SO On!!!" is from Sassy Cheryl's and is included in "Play Hard or Go Home - Sally & Noah".  It was printed on white cardstock.  I framed the white panel with black and gray cardstock.

I sure hope you'll play along in Sassy Cheryl's challenge.  Free digis are up for grabs, so get crafting!

Thanks for visiting my blog.  And, Go Buckeyes!!!!

Toasting Marshmallows

Aren't these little marshmallow dudes cute?  Their future doesn't look too bright though.

For this card, I stamped the DRS Designs image "Toasting Marshmallow" onto Cyrogen White Curious Metallic cardstock with Marvy black dye ink.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I cut around the marshmallow on a stick and the fire with my detailed scissors.

I stamped the DRS Designs image of "Mini Marshmallow" four times onto Cyrogen White Curious metallic cardstock as well, and colored with Copic markers and cut around each image.

Onto a piece of kraft cardstock, I arranged the images.  I stamped the DRS Designs sentiment of "Melt For You Greeting" with Marvy black dye ink onto the kraft.  With a ruler and a Memento Tuxedo Black marker, I drew lines above and below the sentiment, as well as along the bottom of the card.

The card is framed with black cardstock and was rounded with a corner punch.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Have a great weekend.

Feeling Blue

You will want to check out the DRS Designs Blog to see information about the latest challenge...to create a card that is monochromatic.

As I was coming up with an idea for a card, I took a look at my DRS Designs interlocking circle background stamp and thought they looked like bubbles.  I went with it.  I stamped repeatedly on a strip of white cardstock with Distress It Tumbled Glass and Vivid Bermuda Blue.  I sponged the strip with Distress It Tumbled Glass.  I framed the strip with blue cardstock and placed it onto a white piece of cardstock also framed with blue cardstock.

Some white bubbles were created with a Nestabilities die.  I randomly added some crystal dewdrops as well.

I thought these bubbles needed a fish, so I stamped a new fish image from DRS Designs onto a piece of X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the fish with Copic markers and cut around the fish with detailed scissors.  He is pop-dotted into this bubble scene.

A sheer blue bow and button complete the card.

Am I feeling blue?  Not really.  Just wanted to make some bubbles.  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

All Ears

It's Tuesday!  Which means it is time for another challenge on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is "Hats On"...which is to use a Sassy Cheryl's image with a hat.  That's easy to do, just take a look of all of the images available in Sassy Cheryl's store.

I decided to go with an expensive hat...mouse ears.  I remember as a child someone visited Disney World and brought me back personalized (big deal for a little girl named Kecia) ears.  I visited Disney World for the first time during high school and caught a glimpse at the price of such a hat...WHOA!

Anyway, for the challenge, I used the digital set "We're All Ears" from Sassy Cheryl's.  I printed Minnie Sally and the sentiment onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored Minnie Sally with Copic markers.  Using the out-of-box technique, I cut the circle for the image with a Nestabilities die.  I framed it with black cardstock.  Then, I cut two smaller black circles with a Nestabilities die to form the mouse ears.

I placed the ears onto patterned paper from Queen & Co and framed the entire card with black cardstock.

I sure hope you'll play along in Sassy Cheryl's challenge.  Free digis are up for grabs, so get crafting!

Thanks for visting my blog.  If you don't see me again, I've been sued by Disney, LOL!

Masking Summertime

I'm playing along this week as Guest Designer for the CAS weekly challenge over on Splitcoast.  This week we are being challenged to create a one layer card using the technique of masking, CAS228.

On a piece of Curious Metallic Cryogen white cardstock, I stamped the palm tree image from Taylored Expressions with Marvy black dye ink.  I stamped the image again on a Post-It note and covered the palm tree on my card base.  I then used a negative of a Nestabilities die cut and sponged SeaShells Conch Shell dye onto the paper from top of the negative window to about 2/3 of the way down.  I then sponged some Distress It Tumbled Glass along the bottom 1/3.  Using a negative of a circle cut with a Nestabilities die, I stamped a chevron pattern from Darcie with Adirondack Sunset Orange dye.  I then sponged around the negative with the Adirondack Sunset Orange.  Using Distress It Tumbled Glass dye ink, I stamped the Taylored Expression wave image onto the sponged blue.  Removing the palm tree mask and the Nestabilities negative window, I then colored the image with Copic markers.

The sentiment is also from Taylored Expressions and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  I hope this summer is treating you right.

Snorkel Frog

Snorkel Frog is ready to hit the beach!

I stamped the adorable DRS Designs Snorkel Frog onto X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink.  I colored him with Copic markers, and added just a little bit of Diamond Glaze to his eyewear.  The beach and sky were done freehand with Copic markers, with the white caps being made with a white Signo Uniball pen.  The sun was sponged onto the sky using SeaShells Conch Shell dye ink.

The two portions of DRS Designs "Unfrogettable Birthday Greeting" were stamped using Memento Desert Sand dye ink.

I framed the card with black cardstock and mounted onto a white card base.

I hope you have an "Unfrogettable" Saturday and that you make some time for some fun, just like Snorkel Frog is.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Summertime Candy Jars

Sometimes, I love how a card turns out.  And this is one of those times.

The image is "Candy Jars" from Impression Obsession.  There's a lot to think about when coloring this image such as shadows, shading and reflections.  I haven't colored this since January 2011 and I do think I am improving in my coloring.  It is kinda fun to look back.

For this card, I stamped the image onto X-Press It carsdtock with Marvy black dye ink.  I colored the image with Copic markers and did some reflections/highlights with a white Prismacolor pencil.  I placed the image onto a base of kraft and added a strip of patterned paper from The Paper Studio.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  Sheer yellow ribbon, a button and a piece of Baker's Twine put the finishing touches on this card.

Hope you are having a sweet day!  Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Happy Birthday, USA!

Happy Birthday, USA!

This little girl is ready for all of the celebrations!  I hope you have a great day too!

I stamped this adorable DRS Designs image "Here for the Party Cutie Pie Kid" with Marvy black dye ink onto X-Press It paper.  I colored her with Copic markers and cut around her with detailed scissors.  I pop-dotted her on top of an oval that was cut with a Nestabilities die.  The oval was sponged with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass.

I stamped DRS Designs background stamp "Interlocking Star Background" using Versamark Watermark ink onto two shades of blue cardstock.  I added white embossing powder and heat embossed.  I cut two banners using MFT die-namics.

I also stamped a portion of DRS Designs "Birthday Multi Greeting" with Marvy black dye onto white cardsdtock.  I made the banner using a MFT die-namics die.

The base of the card is a texturized sheet of light blue cardstock.  I paper pierced around the base and faux-stitched with a white colored pencil.

The white stars were cut from a punch, and the red and white bow put the finishing touches on this card.

I made this card for the current DRS Designs Challenge "Summer Sun, Summer Fun" because the Fourth of July is THE summertime holiday.  Go over to the DRS Designs Blog and join us.

I hope all of the American readers of this blog enjoy our country's birthday.  Thanks for visiting!

This week the challenge is "Red, White and Blue".  So to honor America's birthday this week, I printed the cute, cute, cute image of "Honoring the Flag - Maddie" onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I framed the image panel with black cardstock.  Patterned paper from The Paper Studio and Darcie was used to form the layout of the card, along with black and red cardstock.  Sheer white ribbon, a blue star brad, and some stars made with a punch complete put the finishing touches on this card.

I hope you can join us for this week's challenge.  Come on over to the challenge blog for some more red, white and blue inspiration, sassy style.
