It's Hambo Hoedown Time!
For this week's challenge, we are to browse the very inspiring Hambo Pinterest boards. You'll find some fun projects here, and past Hoedown Best In Show winners here.
For my card, I actually was inspired by the faux wood on this card by Jeannie Thomas.
It gave me the idea to create a basketball court. To do that, I used the faux wood technique on a piece of beige paper that was already textured and "grooved". I used direct-to-paper with the following dye inks: SeaShells Sandal, SeaShells Peach Bellini and Shadow Ink Soft Gray. Then taking a white colored pencil I drew in the 3 point arch, center court and traced around the perimeter. I framed the court with black cardstock.
I printed the Hambo digital image of "Basketball" onto Georgia Pacific cardstock three times. I colored the basketballs with Copic markers, along with the basketball hoop stand. I adhered some white string to the net portion of the image. I placed the court, the basketballs and the hoop onto a piece of patterned paper from Basic Grey. I paper pierced around this layer and faux stitched with a colored pencil. I framed the panel with black cardstock.
The sentiment is one of three included in "Basketball". I framed it with black cardstock, and adhered a golden star brad above the sentiment.
I hope you can join in on all of the fun with us at the Hoedown this week. All of the challenge details can be found right here on the Hoedown Blog. Remember you must use Hambo images to play along...but that's easy to do (there are some freebies here if you don't have any). If you play along this week, you will be sent next week's Hoedown image for free.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
