I wanted to share this card I made using Anna Wight's cling mount set, "Penguin Antics", which was released in 2008 by Whipper Snapper Designs. Such a fun set with lots of penguin personality!
I was actually inspired by this card by WildSideDesign on Etsy. I was drawn to the large circle of a pond and the unusual green sky. And, I was attracted to the traditional Christmas colors. So, I attempted to create something similar.
Using a Nestabilities die I cut a circle. I then used this circle on a portion of Neenah Solar Crest white cardstock to create a mask for the pond. I then proceeded to add Marvy Light Green dye ink with a sponge to make the sky. I love this bright, bold color. After removing the circle, I then began work on the pond. I stamped the penguins, swirl and the tree image (all a part of the Penguin Antics set) using Marvy dye black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers. I used a Versamarker to color on top the penguins, added clear embossing powder and heated with a heat gun. This created a mask, which allowed me then to sponge on SeaShells Starfish Green dye ink to make the pond. A Copic marker created the shadow of the wobbly penguin.
On the stamped image of the tree and in the sky, I added a little snow with a "Snow Marker" from Marvy Uchida. Snowflakes cut from vellum with a Cuttlebug die also contributed to the snowfall, and were adorned with clear rhinestones from Recollections. Cute little sticker trees from Recollections also embellish the scene.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. As promised, there are more cards to share, so come back soon. Wishing you all what I am aiming for...a pleasant, restful Sunday.
