Dancing Gingers

First off, let me welcome readers from Stampin' When I Can. I am honored to have my blog listed on this wonderful resources for stampers.

Yesterday, I was able to just sit down and color. Aaah! I love to immerse myself in an image and just color, color and color some more. I decided to print off a Christmas time image from Sassy Cheryl's that is called "Dancing Gingers" because Christmas is a little over a month from now. (Gulp!) It will be here before we know it. And, Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog is challenging us with the theme of "Countdown to Christmas" which certainly helps me jump-start the Christmas card season.

I printed "Dancing Gingers" onto X-Press It cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers. I am noticing more and more with the X-Press It cardstock that the Copic colors are easier to blend, so I'm beginning to appreciate everyone's positive reaction to this cardstock, especially when working with hard-to-blend reds. I cut out the scene with a Nestabilities die, and then took my Cutter-bee detail scissors to cut around the Christmas tree tops. I then used the same Nestabilities die and cut a piece of patterned paper from Paper Pizazz to act as the sky. I added some little details to the scene, like some detailing with my can't live without Uni-ball Signo white gel pen, and added some Recollections rhinestones on the tree. The big star in the sky is cut with my Cricut and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onxy black ink and is from a Martha Stewart stamp set. Patterned paper from Making Memories and beige cardstock helped make panels to frame the main image.

I love using Cheryl's images. So happy she shares her talent with all of us paper crafters.

I hope all of my new visitors (and you regulars too) visit again soon. More cards to share, I promise.
