Sausage Dog

Urban Stamps, Kecia Waters, dachshund, Copic markers

Just playing around with a stamp I bought earlier in the year off Etsy.  It is called "Sausage Dog" and was made by Urban Stamps.

I stamped the dachshund image with Marvy Black dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I created a mask with masking film and sponged Mama Elephant Ocean pigment ink.  I made a mistake on the ground, so I cut around the bottom half of the dachshund, and used a strip of patterned paper for the ground.

The sentiment seemed perfect.  It is from Great Impressions and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Got a little Valentine-ish by stamping three little hearts from Paper Smooches.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.

Speaking of Etsy...if I can get my act together again, I plan on dusting off my Etsy shop and trying to sell some of my cards.

Analogous Hearts

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, hearts, wryn
It's so fun just to sit back and color.  Love having some time off.

This card is made with a digital image from Tiddly Inks called "Heartfelt Love".  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.

The sentiment is from an old Close To My Heart set.  Seemed perfect, so I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black.

This card is a result of playing around with analogous colors for a Splitcoast Challenge.  I kinda like the result.

Thanks for visiting my blog this Monday!  I sure do appreciate the time you take out of your day to look at the cards I make.

Bright Yellow Flowers

Inkadinkado, Kecia Waters, yellow flowers, thank you card
Flowers?  December 26?  Why not?!  The weather around here has been incredibly warm.  It feels like April.

This image is from Inkadinkado.  I colored with Derwent Inktense pencils a couple of years ago, when I just got them.  I came across the colored image accidently as I was going through some papers in my stamp room.  Seemed like it was finally time to put it on a card.

Sentiment is a die from Paper Smooches.  Rectangle and circle stitched dies are from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today.  I hope these flowers brightened your day.

Holiday Pup

Some Odd Girl, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, dachshund, Christmas

Sloopy needed a card.  She seemed pleased with the outcome.

This adorable image called "Holiday Pup" is a digital image from Some Odd Girl.  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Some Glossy Accents highlight the ornaments on the antlers.

Fleas Navidad!

Because of the Peanuts Postage Stamps

Kecia Waters, Christmas, Memory Box, Stampabilities
When I heard that the post office was going to make the Peanuts gang a part of their Christmas stamps release, I knew it was a sign to make a Peanuts Christmas card this year.

This is my official 2015 Christmas card.  It was a quick design, which was a bonus.  The stamp is from Stampabilities.  The sentiment die is from Memory Box.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog this Christmas.  May your heart be filled with love today.

Christmas Greetings from Santa

Paper Smooches, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Santa, Christmas
This guy is coming to visit.  Hope he brings you everything your heart desires.

The images and sentiment are from Paper Smooches.  The Santa from the set "Santa Paws" was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I fussy cut around the image.

On a white cardstock panel, I sponged some gorgeous Mama Elephant Mojito pigment ink for the sky by doing a little masking.  I stamped three presents, also from Santa Paws, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the snow ground. Colored also with Copic markerss.  I added some Crystal Stickles to the presents, as well some Glossy Accents.  Santa's spectacles also have Glossy Accents on the lens.

The sentiment is a die cut from Paper Smooches.

Fun card.  Have a fun holiday.  Merry Christmas!

Ginger Girl

Penny Black, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Christmas, Gingerbread
I'm hoping to eat a gingerbread boy or girl this holiday season.  Yummy!

This card features an older image from Penny black called Ginger Girl.  I stamped it onto X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I stamped the image again onto some patterned paper from The Paper Studio and paperpieced the dress.  I used a red Viva Pearl pen to color the hearts.

Stained Glass Candles

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, stained glass, UTEE
Here's a card I made using the A Jillian Vance Design die "Grandpa's Glass Candles"

I used the die to cut a black outline with black cardstock. I ran this through my Xyron and placed onto a card panel of white cardstock. Then using the same die, I cut white X-Press It cardstock.

I colored each piece of the white with Copic markers, and pieced together the scene like a puzzle using the black frame.

Once complete, I covered the put-together image with Versamark Watermark and covered with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. I applied heat with a heat gun. This step was repeated three times to get the thickness.

I placed my finished "stained glass" onto a white card panel.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

Cheering the Buckeyes

Tiddly Inks, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Ohio State

Posting this on the eve of The Game.  This card features the Tiddly Inks digital image of "Annie Cheers".  It is colored with Copic markers, with Crystal Stickles on the pom-poms.  The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design.  The football is from Stamps from Judith.  Scarlet and silver bullet cardtock form the layers of this card, along with an officially licensed sticker.

Cheering for the Buckeyes?  You'd better be!

Birthday Greetings from a Dachshund

Hero Arts, Kecia Waters, dachshund, Copic markers

Today is my Dad's birthday. I have probably mentioned this before, but during my childhood he always wanted me to make him a handmade card for his birthday and Father's Day.  Perhaps he's the reason I grew into this cardmaking hobby.  I'd like to think so.

I made him this card using a Hero Arts stamp called "Holiday Dachshund", stamped with Marvy black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  Colored, of course, with Copic markers.  I fussy cut the image and pop-dotted it onto a white card panel.  Washi tape runs along the base.  The sentiment, from an old Hero Arts set, was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  A few sequins put the finishing touches on this card.

Cool that this stamp deemed "Holiday Dachshund" can sure pass as a birthday stamp too.  Yay for versatility!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Ice Skating Buddies

Sassy Cheryl, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Not sure I'm ready for the slippery ice that comes with every winter, but these two sure are.

To make this card,  I printed the Sassy Cheryl's digital image of "Lucy Lou Princess on Ice" from the set "It Takes One to Know One" onto X-Press It cardstock. I colored the image with Copic markers, added some Crystal Stickles for the ice.

Washi tape was adhered along the bottom of this card, and the sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Dog and Star Tree

Stampotique, Maryse Carrier, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, dog, tree
Lots of coloring therapy is going to be needed.  So, lots of cards will be made.

This is a card made with the image of "Dog and Star Tree" from Stampotique.  Colored with Copic markers.  Playing around with some Simon Says Stamps dies, and used a sentiment from Paper Smooches.  Sponging with Mama Elephant Winter pigment ink.  The "snow" is from an embossing stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some Ranger Texture Paste.

Lots going on with this CAS card.  Lots of frustration going on within with the 2015 Ohio State Buckeyes.  Nuff said.

Rainbow of Leaves

Kecia Waters, watercoloring, leaves, fall

I had fun playing with a leaf die from A Jillian Vance Design.  You can read all about how I made this card over on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.  You should just see all of the die inks and Tombow markers it took to watercolor those leaves.  My desk is now a mess.  Just like my yard is a mess with real leaves.

Snow Much Love

Sassy Cheryl, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, snowman, winter

In no way am I rushing it to be winter with this card.  I am pleased it is going to be in the 70s this week.

However, I needed to officially get going on Christmas cards.  This card uses the digital image of "Snow Much Love" from Sassy Cheryl.  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.

The sentiment is from A Jillian Vance Design.  A few little sequins put the finishing touches on this one-layer card.

You're Kinda Nutty

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, squirrel
I've noticed lots of squirrels in my backyard lately.  And so has Sloopy.  No way she'd send a card like that.  She barks like there is no tomorrow whenever she sees one,  LOL.

Make sure you visit the A Jillian Vance Design blog today to read all about this card.  It was made with the stamp set "Oh Nuts!".

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Squirrels, get out of my yard!

Sloopy Thanks

Urban Stamps, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, dachshund
Sloopy needed a thank you card.  This is the result.

Used some new toys on this one.  The dachshund is a stamp from Urban Stamps out of the UK.  It is called "Sausage Dog".  I bought it on Etsy.  The green patterned paper was cut from a rectangle stitched die from Simon Says Stamp.  And those pretty little sequins are from Doodlebug Design.  All fun finds this summer.

The only old thing on this card is the "Thanks" die cut.  It was a freebie at a convention from Taylored Expressions.

Thanks to you, for visiting my blog.

Three Yards and a Cloud of Dust

Sassy Cheryl's, Cheryl Grant, Kecia Waters, Ohio State, Buckeyes, football, Copic markers
I had to do it!  I want many, many, many touchdowns this evening!  Let's pick up right where we left off in January!

The adorable image is by Sassy Cheryl's and it is called "Touchdown".  It can only be colored with Copic markers that are scarlet and gray.  No maise and blue.  No green and yellow.  No Nittany blue.

X-Press It cardstock was used for this digital print.  Only the good stuff for my Buckeyes.  A fun sticker, and some enamel dots complete this card.

GO BUCKEYES!!!  Back-to-back!

A Jillian Vance Design, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, Whimsie Doodles, mermaid
Mermaids have it good, don't they?  They are at the beach 24/7.   As summer quickly comes to a close, I'm already missing it.  Definitely my favorite season for sure.

Today on the A Jillian Vance Design blog, this card is being featured.  It was made with the "Seas the Day" stamp set by Whimsie Doodles.

That's what I'm trying to do now.  "Seas the Day" and "Seas the Summer".

Smiling Crab

Yes, I still make cards.   I hope my little pause for the past couple of weeks didn't have you worried.

Here's a card I made using the A Jillian Vance Design stamp set "Seas The Day" designed by Whimsie Doodles.  You can read all about the details of this card on today's AJVD blog post.  Go on over and check it out.

Have a great weekend.  My back is about as red as this crab's due to a little too much sun the other day in a pool.  Ouch!  Solarcaine is my best friend right now, LOL.

No more for at least a month or two.  I promise.

Lacrosse

Another card made in May.

This card was made as a request to remember a young girl who lost her life way too early to asthma.  She was an avid lacrosse player and was very spirited in her school activities.  The digital image is from Sherri Baldy and was colored with Copic markers.

Still two more May cards, so stay tuned.  I'm only two months behind.

Lily of the Valley

Northwoods, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Here's a card that I made in May that I am just now sharing.  I know, "bad blogger".

I actually really like it.  It is a beautiful image from Northwoods, and though it looks really complicated it was quite easy to color with the artist drawn lines indicated where to shade.

There's a couple of other cards from May that didn't get shared, so stay tuned.  None as good as this one though so it will be down hill from here, LOL.

So Sweet on You

There She Goes, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
I made this card last week, just for fun.  I'm just getting around to sharing it.  It was made using the stamp set "Freeze the Moment" from There She Goes.  Oh how I miss that company!  I'm fortunate I have some of their stamp sets...though I usually have in my mind that I'm not worthy of them and can't do them justice.  I think I did okay coloring the adorable little girl in Copics.  The rest of the design is a disappointment.  I can't do more than a simple layout to save the life of me.

Back again soon with more cards that I've made, but are still unshared.  Is that even a word?  Unshared?

ChristMoose

It's beginning to look a lot like ChristMoose.  LOL.  Since it's after the Fourth of July, cardmakers will start marking cards for the Christmas season.

This card is being featured on the A Jillian Vance Design blog today.  Go over and take a look and learn all about the new release "ChristMoose"

Now, back to our regularly scheduled summer.

Fungi

AJVD, Whimsie Doodles, Kecia Waters, Copic markers, fungi
Last week, I posted a card for the A Jillian Vance Design blog.   Truth be told, I wasn't pleased with it, but it had to do for the moment.  I had a chance to rework the card, and now, I'm liking it.

Using the mushroom image from AJVD's "Oh, Nuts", I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Hammermill Color Copy.  I made a mask, and then sponged a circle using a negative cut with a Nestabilities die.  Inks used include Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Adirondack Lettuce.  I then removed the mask, and colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment, which cracks me up, is also from "Oh, Nuts".  It was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  A few white enamel dots complete the details for this card.

Hooray for do-overs!

Oh, Snap!

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers

Without going into details about the past week, I needed some coloring therapy.  This adorable digital image from Sassy Cheryl's, "Nimble Musicians of the Air" seemed to soothe my mind and soul.

Colored with Copic markers on Hammermill Copy Paper.  A strip of Kaisercraft patterned paper is along the side.

Here's to a new week!  With much more creating, coloring, and health for all!

Sandman Shaker Card

Kecia Waters, Copic markers, sandman, shaker card, A Jillian Vance Design

A sandman on the beach.  Ingenious or crazy, I'm not sure.

You can read all about this card on today's blog post for A Jillian Vance Design.  It was made with the awesome Sam E Snowman shaker die

And yes, that's real sand from my favorite beach.  Ah, the shores of North Carolina.  Take me there!

Get Well Balloon

Sassy Cheryl's, Kecia Waters, Copic markers
Perhaps I should put this in an envelope and mail it to myself.  Two and a half weeks of bronchitis and I'm going nuts with it.  Hope to be on the mend soon.

This card was actually made at the request of my husband.  He needed a card for a long time friend.

The digital image is from Sassy Cheryl's and is called "Who Burst Your Balloon?".  I printed it onto X-Press It cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Here's to health for all!

Another Snoopy Card

Another Snoopy card.  It's the result of some scraps, which is always fun to use.

I stamped Snoopy from Stampabilities with Versafine Onyx Black onto a circle panel. I covered Snoopy with masking film, and sponged Distress Ink Tumbled Glass for the sky. The ground was colored with Copic markers.

I framed the circle with a black circle, and placed onto a square card panel (sorry, it was a scrap---unknown source). I added three enamel dots, and stamped my sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design onto the card with Versafine Onyx Black.

Makes for a cute card, I think.  No sense throwing scraps away.

Thank You Snoopy

Stampabilities, Distress Inks, Kecia Waters
Somewhat a departure for me, but still fun.  This is a thank you card I made with Distress Inks.

I rubbed and smeared my Distress Ink Scattered Straw and Distress Ink Wild Honey ink pads onto a sheet of acetate.  I misted with water then smooched the acetate onto watercolor paper.  Once I liked the look, I set the paper aside to dry.

In the meantime, I stamped "Happy Snoopy" from Stampabilites with Versafine Onyx Black onto white cardstock and fussy cut.  I adhered Snoopy to my watercolor panel.  Then, I stamped the sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design with Versafine Onyx Black.

Sometimes it is just fun to play and experiment.  That's what this card was all about, Charlie Brown.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
