Just Bee-cause

This card is a result of me playing around in the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers.

To make this CAS card, I stenciled some hexagons using Distress Ink Scattered Straw and ColorBox Chalk Amber Clay.  Using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker, I inked a portion of the Stamps Happen stamp called "Bees" and directly stamped over the stenciling.  I proceeded to color the bee with Copic markers and slight shading with Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

I did all of this, and realized I used Georgia Pacific cardstock...not my go to for Copic coloring.  But, oh well.  I do like the overall results.

Miss You Rose

I'm taken by how GORGEOUS this rose image is!  So, you can imagine my delight when the wonderful folks at Serendipity Stamps asked me to join them this August as Guest Designer.  Yes!  Yes!  Yes!

Each month the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog posts a new challenge.  This month, the challenge is to create a CAS card with the theme "I Miss You".  Sure hope you'll join in on the fun.  Head on over to the blog for some FABULOUS Design Team inspiration!

To make my CAS "I Miss You" card, I stamped this beautiful "Rose" image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I stippled Distress Ink Scattered Straw onto the cardstock, as well as lightly misted some Gold Shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko. 

The sentiment, "Miss You (small)", is also from Serendipity Stamps and was stamped with Versafine Onxy Black. 

I framed the image panel with black cardstock, and placed at a slight angle onto a white card base.  I attached a small loop of gold ribbon along the side of the card.

Cake Walk

Making this card has made me hungry for birthday cake, LOL.  It features an adorable image from Sassy Cheryl's "Callie Celebrates" digital stamp set. 

I printed the image onto X-Press It cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Repeate Impressions and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. 

The patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs.  A MFT die-namics cut the pennant flag, where a button and Baker's Twine complete the details of this CAS card.

Sea the Seahorse

Sea-ing the sea last week certainly made me smile last week, and I hope this card I made makes you smile too.

Made with AJVD's "Seas The Day" by Whimsie Doodles. The adorable seahorse was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers. I used light blue vellum and acetate to create the oval scene, scribbling some Copic marker directly onto the acetate. The ric-rac is made from felt and was cut with a die.  Clear buttons and Baker's Twine complete this card.

I love to sea the sea!  And cards with creatures from the sea!

Sunflower Trio

Gasp!  No Copics on this.  The color was sponged onto the sunflowers.  I simply sponged Adirondack Sunshine Yellow and Adirondack Butterscotch onto these sunflowers from A Jillian Vance Design's "Hello Sunshine" stamp set. 

The flowers were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press It cardstock. 
I brayered Adirondack Sailboat Blue and Distress Ink Faded Jeans onto a strip of white cardstock to create a blue gradient.  The strip was framed with black cardstock and placed onto a white card front.

The sentiment is also from AJVD's "Hello Sunshine" stamp set and was stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.

I pop-dotted the sunflowers onto the card to give them dimension.  Yes, I cut them out individually with detailed scissors.  Really.

Life Is Good

Fun, bright summertime colors make me happy.  So, this card makes me happy.  Nothing better than a pool with beverage in hand.  Make mine a double-shot of vanilla, LOL.

The adorable image is from Kraftin Kimmie's "Totally Tubular" stamp set, illustrated by Cheryl Grant.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The little sun in the corner is from DJ Inkers.  It too was colored with Copics.  A Nestabilities circle die was used to cut the circle panel, and a MFT die-namics die cut the grass out of green cardstock.  I can't remember who makes the patterned paper used for the panel, but I can tell you I bought it at JoAnn's.

The sentiment is also from "Totally Tubular."

Perfect for an Anything Goes Challenge, don't you think?  Therefore, I'm entering it into the Anything Goes Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday Facebook Challenge.

Christmas In July

A Jillian Vance Design made me do it, LOL!  It's "Christmas in July" on the AJVD blog this week, and I'm first up with this card.  I made it with the set "Happy Trails" by Whimsie Doodles.  Not thought of as a Christmas set, but just look at what it can do!

To make this card, I simply brayered Ranger's Adirondack Sailboat Blue and Distress Ink Faded Jeans onto white cardstock.  With a paint brush, I added dots of Copic White to appear like falling snow in the sky.  I tore some white cardstock to put at the base of my scene to appear as snow.  The trees, stars and bear are all from AJVD's "Happy Trails" by Whimsie Doodles and were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored these elements with Copic markers and fussy cut with detailed scissors to become part of the scene.  I added the string of lights from Jolee's.  I framed the scene with black cardstock and put onto a white cardstock base.

The sentiment is from AJVD's "Miss Adventures: Celebrate" by Whimsie Doodles.  That was stamped with my go-to sentiment ink, Tsukineko's Versafine Onyx Black.

Now back to summer.  I am in no way ready to start making Christmas cards on a regular basis.  Nice to know I have one done though, LOL.
