You Are My Sunshine

Repeat Rockstar, Dawn Bennett, challenged us all to make a double dutch fold card.  Me, not knowing how to make one, checked out the great tutorial found here on Splitcoast Stampers.

So, following the directions on the tutorial, I made the card base with black cardstock and patterned paper from Bo Bunny.  Then, for my image, I did a little masking and repeatedly stamped the Repeat Impressions image of "My Sunshine" (8402-M), with the help of a post-it note and my stamp positioner, onto X-Press It cardstock using Marvy black dye.   I then colored the background sunflowers very faintly with Copic markers.  Then, I stamped the image again, and colored it with bright, bold Copic markers and cut around the image using my Cutter-bee scissors.  I then placed it over one of the flowers in the scene I created to create some dimension.  The sentiment, which is also part of the "My Sunshine" (8402-M) image, was then stamped by inking it only with a Memento tuxedo black marker and placing it above the sunflowers.

Paper piercing, faux stitching with a white colored pencil, and a black sheer ribbon put the finishing touches on this card.

Join us in this Designer's Choice Challenge on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.  Read the details and show us your creations...you may just win a little something.
