Sunset Soaring

Wendy at Repeat Impressions designed a new stamp set called "Big Boys Toys".  Check it out, there are images of cars, motorcycles, planes and hot air balloons.  And there are some awesome sentiments to go with these images too.  I believe it to be the perfect set to reach for during graduation and Father's Day season.

Each member of the Design Team has created a project from the new set to inspire you.   I'll show you my creation, then you'll want to hop around to the other Repeat Impressions Rock Stars.  And, while you are hopping and getting inspired, you will want to collect one word from each designer. After you collect all the words and form a sentence, email Wendy at wendy@repeatimpressions.com She will pick a random winner to get the entire set of "Big Boys Toys".  Visit The House That Stamps Built for all of the details.

 My word?  Repeat's

I know I will repeatedly reach for the hot air balloon images.  They are so versatile.  For my card, I sponged the following dye inks onto a piece of X-Press It cardstock:  Seashells Conch Shell, Adirondack Sunshine Yellow, Adirondack Sunset Orange, Adirondack Rust, and Vivid Taupe.  I then used a Copic marker to draw in the streaks in the sky.  The mountains were created by simply tearing a post-it note and sponging Vivid Taupe dye ink.  Then, I stamped the image "Hot Air Balloon" (9113-K) with Marvy black dye ink.  I made it appear as a silhouette by coloring the image completely in with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.  I stamped the sentiment "Dreams Take Flight" (9117-F) with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I framed the scene with black cardstock and patterned paper from Basic Grey.  A sheer black bow puts the finishing touches on this card.

Make sure you soar on over to each of the Rock Stars and email Wendy your sentence!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

This card is so lovely. Brings back a million memories of growing up in Albuquerque, NM (the International balloon fiesta is there every year). I use to be on a balloon team about 25 years ago -some of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen in my life. There is nothing like floating peacefully in the sky when the sun rises or sets. You captured the look perfectly. I am super impressed. TFS.
