Baby Owl

It's Monday! What better way is there to make a Monday more bearable, than with a Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions? This week’s SOTW is "Baby Owl" (2613-H). The SOTW is available exclusively to Repeat Impressions blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code from Monday, May 21 to Sunday, May 27. To get the discount code and more information about the SOTW, please go to the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.

For my card, I wanted to create a little dusk scene.  Using a Post-It note, I cut a circle mask for the moon.  I brayered the following dye inks onto a piece of X-Press It cardstock: Adirondack Cloudy Blue, Vivid Sky Blue, and Distress Ink Faded Jeans.  I sponged Adirondack Pink Sherber along the bottom of the cardstock so very lightly.  Then, removing the circle mask, I sponged SeaShells Conch Shell and Adirondack Sunshine Yellow dye inks.  With a Memento Tuxedo Black marker, I drew a branch into my scene and colored it with Copic markers.  I then stamped "My Sunshine" (8402-M) onto a scrap piece of X-Press It paper with Marvy Black dye two times.  I only colored the leaves on this image with Copic markers and cut them out with my Cutter-bee scissors.  I placed these leaves onto the branch.  Finally, I took this week's SOTW, "Baby Owl" (2613-H) and stamped it with Marvy Black dye ink onto a scrap of X-Press it cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers, cut around the image, and placed the adorable little critter onto the branch.  He seems taken with the full moon, don't you think?

For some finishing touches, I paper pierced around the scene, faux stitched with a color pencil, and framed the scene with black cardstock.  I added a few stars with a white Uni-ball Signo pen. A sheer blue ribbon was added to complete the card.

Make sure you take the time to see the beautiful cards made by some of the other Repeat Rock Stars using the SOTW:

What a gorgeous evening scene, Kecia! That's cool you drew your own branch. Love your coloring and colors, too, and your detailed cutting.
