How Sweet! Candyland!

Still on my sweet kick in cardmaking. Perhaps, it is because I'm excited about the "Sugar" Bowl....NOT!

Anyway, one of the regrets I had during the holidays was not enough time to color this amazing image from The Stamping Boutique called "Candyland Winter Background". Doesn't this image just scream to be colored? Last night, as I was feeling remorse about it, it occurred to me that I could attempt to use this image on a Valentine card. I mean, really...isn't Valentine's Day one of the "sweetest" holidays out there? And so that is what I set out to do.

I printed the image onto Georgia Pacific cardstock and had an absolute blast coloring it with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils. I used some various Stickles to add some glitter to the scene. I then decided I would try my hand at creating a glitter frame for the image, using Art Institute glitter and tacky tape (and I am happy to report not too much of a mess). I then created the layout using patterned paper from Lasting Impressions, Bo Bunny, and an unknown source. One layer is a piece of white cardstock run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.

Sheer white ribbon, metal clips and a heart cut from a Nestabilities die embellish this card. The sentiment of "How Sweet" is from a Studio G $1 stamp and a white gel pen did some dot work around one of the panels and the die cut heart. A corner punch rounded the corners of the card.

Since I went to the effort of glitter, I'm guessing I should enter this card into the current Copic Creations Challenge, Challenge #41, which is to add sparkle to your Copic work. Also, I was inspired by today's Ways To Use it Challenge on Splitcoast, WT303, which was to use silver in some way, hence the clips.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I promise all of these sweets are zero calories. Really.
