Fly Away With Me

It's Wednesday, which means it is time for a "What If? Wednesday Sketch".  You have two weeks to enter your card using the sketch posted on the Repeat Impressions blog...The House That Stamps Built.  All participants will have a chance to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate.  I hope you'll play along with us.

For my card, I stamped the image of "Bi-plane Silhouette" (9111-I) with Versafine Onyx Black.  I cut around the image.  I stamped the Repeat Impressions sentiment "Fly Away with Me" (9102-G) and cut around this also.

The square panels were sponged with ColorBox Chalk Ice Blue.  I placed the plane and the banner and connected them with a hand drawn line using a Memento Tuxedo Black marker.  These panels where framed with black cardstock.

Textured light blue cardstock and patterned paper from The Paper Studio form the layers of this card, along with a small red heart cut with a punch.

Make sure you venture over to the other Rock Stars to see their sketch interpretations.

Today will be my final post as a Repeat Impressions Rock Star.  It is my hope that I showcased Repeat Impressions images in a way that inspired creativity.  I am proud of the work I did and tried to consistently post my best efforts.  I have been challenged and have learned a lot through this experience.

Tree House

You have to admit...this tree looks like fun!  It sure was fun to color!

This is a new image from Rubbernecker Stamps.  It is called "Tree House" (27655).   I stamped the detailed image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-Press it cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers.

The sentiment is from Rubbernecker's new "Sketch Poppies Set" (27623) (which I hope to ink up later this week!) and was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  The circle was cut with a Nestabilities die.

Patterned paper from Darcie and Bella Blvd form the layers with this card, along with black cardstock.  A sheer white ribbon and bow were added to the card.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Look for more Rubbernecker posts to come in the next week!

Liberty Bear

A special thanks to all who have served.  This day is only possible because of you.

To make this card, I printed the adorable Sassy Cheryl's image of "Liberty Bear" onto X-Press It cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers.  I made a little background "noise" with some dots and stars from Stamps by Judith, stamping with ColorBox Ice Blue Chalk.  These are very faint.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and is from Repeat Impressions.

A simple piece of black cardstock frames the image, and the larger panel is a piece of plain blue cardstock.  A button and Baker's Twine complete the card.

Battle of the Bands ~ Parrothead Style

Welcome to "The Battle of the Bands" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo friends and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict Band groups! It might be our favorite, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from the amazing Lyn's blog, you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose band-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way!  Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, May 29, as well as at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blog. (We love comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, May 26 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!)

My creation celebrates the fun music of Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band.  I've been fortunate to have seen Jimmy Buffett a couple of times in concert, and let's just say Parrotheads really know how to party and kick back and enjoy some island tunes.

For my card, I combined the adorable Hambo digital images of "Ocean Bottom" and "Snorkel Boy". I printed the images onto X-Press It cardstock and colored them with Copic markers.  I framed the scene with black cardstock.  I added a guitar sticker from Paper House for "Jimmy" and added some crystal beads as bubbles.  Pop-dots were added for dimension in the scene.  The patterned paper is from Bella Blvd.

Now jam on over to the talented Deborah for another great Band group that will have you tappin' your foot!

Here's the hop order, in case you get need it:

Tail Mail

It's Wednesday and it is time for another Designer's Choice Challenge for Repeat Impressions.  You can read all about this challenge on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House that Stamps Built.

This week we were challenged to create a critters card...fins, feathers or fur.  Well, Sloopy saw to it that I picked the right one.

I stamped the image of "Tail Mail" (8105-F) onto X-Press It cardstock with Marvy black dye ink and colored it with Copic markers.  I cut around the image.  Then, through masking and repeated stamping, I stamped Tail Mail onto a piece of kraft to creat a card panel.  I colored a portion of these images with a white colored pencil.  I framed this panel with black cardstock.  Using my Cuttlebug alphabet dies, I cut the letters w-o-l-f onto black cardstock.  I adhered these to the card, and then tied hemp and a button to the card for the finishing touches.

Purr

It's Monday! What better way is there to make a Monday more bearable, than with a Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions?  This week’s SOTW is called "Kisa 2" (4206-K). The SOTW is available exclusively to Repeat Impressions blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code from Monday, May 20 to Sunday, May 26. To get the discount code and more information about the SOTW, please go to the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built

For my card, I stamped Kisa 2 with Marvy Grey dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I cut the image into a circle panel using a Nestabilities die.  I paper pierced around this circle and framed it with black cardstock.  The larger card panel is patterned paper from The Paper Studio.  It too was paper pierced and framed with black cardstock.  A black flag was added using a MFT die-namics die.  The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions.  It is called "To Purr Is" (6210-F).  I stamped it onto the patterned paper with Versafine Onyx Black.

There are some other cards created with this week's SOTW.  Make sure you visit these Rock Stars to see how they used this feline image:

Thanks A Latte'

It's Wednesday, which means it is time for a "What If? Wednesday Sketch".  You have two weeks to enter your card using the sketch posted on the Repeat Impressions blog...The House That Stamps Built.  All participants will have a chance to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate.  I hope you'll play along with us.

For my card, I stamped a portion of the image "Thanks a Latte'" (9303-P) with Marvy black dye ink onto X-Press it cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I cut around the image using Cutter-bee scissors.

On a piece of white cardstock, I sponged SeaShells Seashell Pink dye ink.  I used a corner rounder punch to round the corners.  I adhered the cup image to this panel, drew stem with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker, and stamped the sentiment portion of "Thanks a Latte" (9303-P) with Marvy black dye ink directly onto the sponged panel.

Patterned paper from The Paper Studio was used to form one of the layers of this card, along with white cardstock.  A sheer lime green bow puts the finishing touches on this card.
