Saturday In The Park

So this weekend was a real teaser around here.  60 degrees.  In January.  Made me really long for summer.

With hints of summer from the weather and this adorable Hambo image of  "Ice Cream Man" (4905), I could not stop signing on of my favorite songs (Saturday in the Park) from my favorite band (Chicago).  And from that, this card took on a life of it's own.

I stamped "Ice Cream Man" (4905) with Marvy black dye ink onto X-Press It cardstock.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut out with my Cutterbee scissors.

I wanted his setting to be in a nice grassy park, so I printed the Hambo digital stamp of "Trees" onto X-Press it cardstock.  I colored the scene with Copic markers and framed it with some white cardstock.

Patterned paper from American Crafts provide the layers of this card, both the lime green grid and the musical notes along the bottom.  "Saturday in the Park" was computer-generated.  A transparent lime button, along with Baker's Twine was added to this strip.  I arranged the "park", music notes, and ice cream man onto the larger panel.

"...a man selling ice cream..."

Now that I've hopefully got you signing...

Do you want to work with some fun images like these, both digital and rubber?  Hambo Stamps is having a Design Team Call!  I totally urge you to apply because being a Bacon Bit is so much fun.  Read all of the details right here.

And, since we are talking "toons", why not "Name that Toon" with us during a Hambo Customer Blog Hop scheduled for this Friday.  We will be creating with the comic strips in mind. All of the details can be found on the Hambo Hoedown Blog. Sure hope you'll join us!  There's still time!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!

WOW! This is precious! I love the fun colors and with the weather staying so warm (not complaining!) it isn't hard to believe summer is on its way! I really like the music DP in the background too!
