Oh My!

I hinted in my last post that I was working on something pretty amazing. Here's the big reveal.

THE Terry Medaris of Terry Medaris Art Stamps contacted me to make three cards for him to take to the various shows and classes he does. ME???!!! For HIM???!!! And here's the catch...he asked me NOT to use Prismacolor pencils, as he wants his customers and students to see his images colored with different mediums. Usually when I make something with one of Terry's images I mimic his coloring and use Prismacolor pencils because he is just so awesome and I know I can do no better. I'm not in his league when it comes to coloring and color choice. I'm not even in the ballpark.

So, really my two mediums of choice, as you know are alcohol markers or colored pencils. So, okay...I can do an image and color it with Copics. And that is what I am sharing with you today.

I stamped this image called "Indian Maiden with Blanket" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto X-Press It cardstock. I colored it with Copic markers. I used patterned paper from Lasting Impressions and framed the image and patterned paper panels with black cardstock. Black brads, a circle clip and a black sheer ribbon complete the card, along with some paper piercing of two of the panels. Terry's images speak for themselves, so I tried really hard not to detract from the Indian maiden.

What to do now? I've already used my comfortable Copics, and my Prismacolor pencils are not an option. YIKES! Check back soon...I have a couple of ideas, but oh my...how I am being stretched outside of my comfort zone, yet totally floored and honored at the same time. THE Terry Medaris!
