Proud Mother Rabbit

This is a Stamps Happen image I bought a couple years ago in the clearance bin at a Michael's in South Dakota. I couldn't resist it. The great thing about having a relaxing spring break this week is that I actually have time to color. This was a fun one.

To change things up a bit, I decided to use coated paper for a more watercolored look. I stamped the image with Marvy dye black ink onto some coated paper I got from Arvey's. I heat set the ink, and then proceeded to color the image with Copic markers. I used my Cricut to cut the circle panel card. Patterned paper, ribbon and a corner punch were also used to create this card.

Once again, this card is fairly plain. I'm thinking that this adorable image can do most of the work,rather than use lots of embellishments. This card fits March's Central Theme, All Creatures Great and Small, over on Splitcoast.

Bunny Blooms

Isn't this the most adorable image from High Hopes? It is called "Bunny Blooms". Though it is very Easter-like, I decided that I would probably be more in need of a thank you card rather than an Easter card, so I made this to put in my stash. The sentiment from American Art Stamp seemed perfect for the image, don't you think?

Well, you know the drill...I stamped the image on Georgia Pacific cardstock using Marvy dye black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers. Patterned paper, black cardstock, scallop punch, a Nestabilities circle die, a white gel pen and ribbon were also used to create this card.

I decided to limit the layers and embellishments, for the most part, because I didn't want to detract from this cute little bunny.

This card is going to serve as my entry for the current Copics Creations Challenge, Challenge #24, which is to use a favorite technique. I'm going to put this card in for coloring fur.

Dachshund Easter Surprise

I thought it might be fun to go through my dachshund stamp stash to see if I had any dachshund Easter images. I was delighted to find this adorable little dachshund hatching from an Easter egg. The image is from Cowtown Stamps. I stamped it with Marvy dye black ink onto Georgia Pacific cardstock. I colored the image with Copic Markers. I decided to use an oval Nestabilities die to make the oval shape. The sentiment tag is a Cuttlebug die. Patterned paper, colored cardstock and paper piercing, ribbon, and brads were also used to create this card. The sentiment was taken from a portion of an image from Inky Antics.

This card will more than likely go to Sloopy's sitter. It only seems appropriate, don't you think?

Pullin' For You

I made this card for my co-worker's son. He was in a freak, but nasty accident on a recent senior trip, so I'm hoping this card will brighten his day and cheer him up a bit.

The Flopsey bunny image is from My Favorite Things. I stamped it with Marvy dye black ink onto Georgia Pacific cardstock. I colored the image with Copic markers. Patterned paper, colored cardstock, Cuttlebug, and carrot embellishments were also used to create this card. The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things.

I hope to have some more posts to share with you this week, as I should have some stamping time. At last, I am on a much-needed spring break!

Brighter Days Ahead

The only good thing about suffering through a nasty sinus infection during a nice springlike weekend is the only thing you can really do is make a card. That's what I did.

This adorable bear image is a digital stamp from Wink Wink Ink. Right now, it is available for free. I couldn't resist it.

I colored the image with Copic markers after printing it on Georgia Pacific cardstock. I was drawn to using bright colors, inspired by the sunshine outside. After coloring the image, I painted the bear's rain gear with Diamond Glaze to give it some extra shine. The umbrella was made with my Cricut. Patterned paper, colored cardstock, and dew drops were also used to create this card.

The inside sentiment reads, "Gray skies are going to clear up," as that is the lyric that kept running through my head as I made this brightly colored card. And, hopefully, my stuffed-up head will clear up soon.

Strut

I love the way this one turned out. Here is yet another card I made a while back and am just now posting. It is another card with a Terry Medaris image as the focal point. Don't you just love this chick?

The image is stamped with Stazon Jet Black onto Strathmore Bristol smooth paper. It is colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used Terry's coloring as a guide from one his coloring books. The man is a master at colors. Just look at those greens, purples and yellows. Love the way he makes colors pop. I just colored this image to practice and study his work, and turned the finished product into a card. Patterned paper, colored cardstock and a paper punch were also used to complete this card.

Thanks for looking. I'm almost caught up in my posting. My hope is to actually do some new stamping this weekend. I need some coloring therapy!!!

Getting Back in the Groove

Here's another card I forgot to post. What's wrong with me? I'm making cards and not posting them. I'll try to remedy that.

This card is another that has already gone to the recipient. A coworker of mine celebrated a birthday at the end of January, so this card hopefully was a bright colorful wish for her.

The image is from Terry Medaris. It was stamped with black Stazon ink onto Strathmore Bristol smooth paper and colored with Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. Patterned paper and black cardstock were also used to construct this card, along with some colorful brads and ribbons.

This woman sure looks like she's got her groove, don't you think? I'm trying to get mine back too in terms of stamping, blogging and general life. Enough of the winter blahs!!!
